Nightmare on Elm Street: the Next Generation

[torabrambles]

Ronny was still trying to wake up Maria when Thomas came into the library. He took one look at the scene in front of him and was next to them in an instant, "How long has she been asleep?"

"I don't know... but she won't-hey!" Ronny nearly fell out of his chair as Thomas moved him to the side and pulled Maria into a sitting position, "Maria!" He shook her hard but she wouldn't wake. They didn't notice Anna getting up and running off as quickly as she could.

Maria's eyes couldn't look away from his knives and her legs were shaking so bad now that she couldn't move away unless she wanted to fall over. 'I made him leave last time... what happened then?' She thought frantically.

[Barbossa's girl]

Freddy reached his hand out to Maria's face.

[torabrambles]

Anna ran back towards them, an paper cup gripped in her hands. She dumped the contents on Maria's head. Who woke with an gasp, "About damn time!" Thomas stepped back from her and Maria cussed, wiping her face off, "What took you guys so long?! He nearly got me!"

Her anger was going a good job of covering up just how scared she'd been, but if one looked closely they could see the water rising off of her like steam. She looked up at Thomas, just seeming to realize that he was there, blushing she looked down at the books again.

Thomas held up the file; "I think I've got something that could help us."

"What's that?" Ronny asked.

"An old police file on Freddy Kruger."

[Barbossa's girl]

The police chief looked through the file cabinets looking for the file on the Springwood Slasher case. He didn't want anyone to think Freddy was back.

"Where's that damn file?"

[torabrambles]

"Wrill you get in twrouble for taking this?" Anna asked, looking down at the now open file.

"Probably," Thomas said calmly, he shrugged, "I honestly couldn't care less at the moment my boss is being a coward."

He looked over at Maria, "You had another dream about him?"

Maria nodded, reaching around to feel the back of her shirt, there were five small holes in the loose fabric, "Yeah..."

(Barbossa's girl... do you want to be Ronny? So you can be someone in the scene?)

[Barbossa's girl]

(ok)

"She fell asleep reading the book", Ronny said. "She wouldn't wake up."

[torabrambles]

Anna was reading over the file, frowning.

"We'll just have to be careful from now on." Thomas said, "I'll see if I can find something to make you guys sleep without dreams... or something to keep you awake. Until we can find away to get rid of Freddy."

Maria wasn't paying attention to any of this, she was replaying the two dreams she'd had about Freddy in her head. In the first one he'd left of his own will, allowing her to wake up. What had caused it? She'd pushed her fear down and...

"It says that they burned his hosue down. Vwith him in it." Anna said, looking up from the file. Thomas nodded.

"Fire..." Maria repeated, something clicking into place. "He hates fire... he's afraid of it."

(it's not too early to figure that out is it?)

[Barbossa's girl]

"It can't be that easy", Ronny said. "If he only appears in dreams, how do we make fire? We can't get rid of him if he's just a dream."

[torabrambles]

"I..." Maria paused, not wanting to reveal her best kept secret. But it was too dangerous now to keep it to herself, Danny had been attacked, and she'd been attacked twice now... it was only a matter of time before Freddy came after someone else. Looking at the ground Maria admitted, "I can make fire... with nothing. I have..." She looked up, "I have pyrokenisis." (I think that's what you call it.)

[Barbossa's girl]

"You do?" Ronny asked.

He took her hands and looked at them.

"How do you do it? I've never seen you do it before?"
