"I don't trust you being pregnant, Cassandra," I say, tucking the gun back into the front of my trousers. "Sorry, dear," I glare, trying to look enormous and threatening. I'm one of those around the clock these days, though.

I give her a rather disgusted look, a mixture of confusion and annoyance.. her words are like a string of awful sounding noises that I don't care to hear. "Bloody hell."

By now I've recollected my senses a little. I frown at Rae, then at Cassandra who grasps the wheel. "You're leakin'." I tell her plainly, as if none of us are thrown off balance by what just happened. A stain of blood is starting to soak the back of her shirt, where the bullet from Rae's gun just scraped the skin. "Get outta here," I tell her, going over and demanding the position at the wheel from her. "Go fix yerselves up." If anything, I think it's best for all of us to be out of each others faces for a moment. So this is a good an excuse as any.

I frown up at him, "I think controlling the bloody ship is a bit more important than that.. bloody idiot. Not like I could reach it anyway."

Right now I'd fancy strangling them both and chucking them overboard as fish bait, but then I'd be stuck on a ship with a crew of sexually deprived, middle-aged men, and where would that get me? Sometimes I can't believe my remarkable luck. I pause for a moment to examine my uncharacteristic sarcasm. Something rang a bell in it, something I probably shouldn't miss. I sound a little like Cassandra. And that scares the living daylights out of me. Because didn't she say? Didn't she tell me I'd end up just like her one day, jaded, harboring a loathing for Jack and everything he did? A shiver trembles up my spine.

"Ask some of your good friends aboard to help you." I tell her, well aware of the fact that she doesn't have anyone here who'd give a rat's ass about her. "Or bleed to death." Actually, that would solve at least one problem. I take the wheel from her, and give her a blank look, as if I'm wondering why she's still standing there.

I give them both a dark, cold glare before I head off down the stairs again. The sting in my back is nothing compared to the aching pride I'm having to endure. I get to my cabin and lock myself inside.

"Gee, you'd think I'd done her the wrong," I say, half to Jack and half to myself. It never occurred to me to be as angry with him as I am with Cassandra, even though he responded just as equally as she'd led it on.

I watched Cassandra go until she disappeared, so only now does my gaze turn to Rae. "Come here, luv." I murmer, my voice strangely distant, and I gesture her to come over to me.

Sighing heavily, I make my way toward him. "If you want something from me, Jack, I'm afraid you've taken the last of it. I've nothing left to give." Nothing but what's inside me, which he wants no part of, anyway.
