Hello,
This place seems a little quiet, so perhaps I can meet and get to know you somewhat through a game.
I have chosen a game rather than the roleplaying section because rp requires far more structure and logic than this. (but tell me if I must move)
Talk like a pirate game: a silly story about a group of people who sail around, find adventure and have a lot of unexpected stuff happening to them.
Rules:
1. You may enter the story at any point in the game.
2. Come up with your pirate name.
3. Talk like a pirate. Of course, we are not experts at pirate-speak, but try not to be too formal. A few Arrr and apostrophise should help somewhat.
4. Although this is intended to be silly with us having a few lucky abilities (such as being able to fight off solo five people at once) don’t do anything that doesn’t make sense at all. For instance, if we are on the ship at sea, you cannot quickly run ashore to get a bottle of rum, or have some foreign object materialise out of nowhere without a good explanation.
5. Keep interacting with other players. This game does follow a made up on the spot story line, so do not have your character completely venture out of the picture and begin your own completely separate story. If, for instance, we were fighting another ship and you were taken a prisoner, it’s fine to be alone for a while, but try to get back to your pirate ship soon.
6. We are pirates Arrr! We fight and gamble and get drunk. BUT. DO NOT kill other human players. No one likes their character killed.
7. Have fun, use your imagination and enjoy doing crazy things in this game that you can never do in rl.
I’ll begin (I suppose it makes sense since I’m starting this game).
Pirate Name: Red Mary Flint
“Land ho, yerrr worthless sea mongrels!” yelled Captain Swift Deadly as his ship, The Evil Horde, docked at Tortuga. He shot one of his men who had the misfortune of not getting out of his way fast enough and then surveyed his thinned out crew critically. With a few unselective curses he summoned his First Mate, Red Mary. “I be takin’ care of business ashore. When I be back aboard mi ship, I better be findin’ mi crew full again, or I be looking fer a new First Mate, with the current First Mate be feeding the sharks, yer see.” He threatened.
“Aye, Captain, but I be needin’ some form of persuasion to be getting’ them, something shiny perhaps,” said Mary.
The Captain scratched his head and then reluctantly handed over a bag of gold coins to Mary. With a threat to spill her guts out if she misuses it, he was off, leaving his crew to handle his ship.
Red Mary departed swiftly as well, knowing full well that the Captain had the impatience to shoot those who disobeyed his orders before he even spoke up his orders, which of course led to the problem of needing to replenish his crew.
She headed for the best place she knew, the Gutted Herring, the docks tavern where all sorts of scum hung out looking for stray jobs.
She pulled the tavern door open, allowing some pirate to be thrown out of the street and went inside once the way was clear. She squinted through a yellow curtain of smoke, when someone placed a hand on her shoulder…
