A pirate's life.
It is nearly one o'clock after midnight when Katty Stevenson learns that her family is dead. Her husband, her three children...Even the dog'd been murdered! She can't believe someone did that to her...
But the question is…Who?
She makes researches all over the Caribbean with the certitude she will find the murder.
After six months, searching and looking for hints, her inquiry doesn't move forward. She rejects the idea he/she was here for killing her children first. Indeed, a discussion (more a fight than a discussion!) she'd heard secretly between John, her beloved husband and a strange man, confirmed that she would have better chances to find him/her by her husband’s relatives.
One day, when she’s on the docks, that same guy reappears. He says to her John was a pirate and his ship now belongs to her, as it is written in his will! It’s impossible! John Stevenson was a proud captain of a merchant ship! He said pirates were stupid, and he could kill them with his own hands one by one! She despises pirates at 100% and will never be seen with one of these vile, drunk creatures!
She finally discovers the truth when she climbs aboard The Moon’s Seeker. There’s a bunch of pirates waiting for her orders! She’s mad at her late husband!He lied to her! After all, he deserved what happened to him! But the children…

After traveling on her ship (reluctantly) in England, Asia and...Tortuga (eheheh...there's a pirate we all know here...), she finally has found him! His name's Ian Fraser, a Scotsman who lent money to her husband, but (o'course!) he couldn't pay his debt!
Katty wonders why he killed all her family, though. It was unnecessary! Her anger is about to come out! She will kill him!
But…she has to find him first. And she doesn’t know where.
The story starts at Tortuga, when Katty accidentally meet his brother-in-law (not anymore, she bitterly thinks)...Jack Sparrow. It happens that he wants to find Ian too, so she asks him to come with her.

Widowed. Her husband, John 'Bloody Drunkard' Stevenson, was a pirate, captain of the Moon's Seeker. She's been the captain when he died, but she didn't want. She gave the ship to Michael, the first mate. She's now aboard The Black Pearl with Jack Sparrow, her bro-in-law. They both want to find Ian Fraser, who killed her family.
History:
She was raised in England by her father, a merchant. When he decided to move in the Caribbean, she had no choice. But her sadness quickly disappeared when she saw what a wonderful land it was. The mix of cultures, languages and customs amazed her. She met John at her first job, which was baker.
It was love at first sight. She got married with him at the age of 18, and nine months later, they had Jeremiah. Then followed Isabelle and Jamie. They were 8, 7 and 5 years old when Ian'd killed them.
The rest, you know it...
Few characteristics:
She's naive (a bit), but very, very smart. Her husband taught her how to handle a sword and to defend herself with her hands.
She used to be a happy nature...before what happened...Now, She's touchy and pessimistic. Jack tries to make her happier, and sometimes he succeeds...She finds in him a great, funny, mysterious person. She likes his company as much as John’s.
Goal:
To kill Ian Fraser.
