Rae and Anya are tired of sitting up straight, being courted by less than handsome gentleman, and suppressing yawns during countless parties, gatherings, dinners. . .

What gets them through is, of course, rebellion. By day they live by pompous rule- by night they sit by the docks, talking to sailors, dreaming, wishing they were pirates.
