Oh, I forgot to mention that if we used your idea instead, then Will and Elizabeth would not be united after all. I'd like to add that the plot scenario is subject to change. But yes, please do talk to Elphie. I would love for her to play Will because I'm familiar with her style of thinking...also, the character list would be complete!

Character Bio (like we need one HAHA)
Name: Captain Jack Sparrow
Age: 35
Hair: Black with dreadlocks, braids, and baubles tied in. Never takes off red bandana. Always wears his tricorner pirate hat.
Eyes: Deep Chocolate Brown. Always rimmed with black khol.
Clothes: A once white linnin shirt, a blue vest and a grey Captain's Coat. a white and red faded sash wrapped around his waist, over the vest, but under the coat. A leather belt over the sash to keep it in place. From the belt his trusty compass hangs and his flintlock pistol is shoved in to keep it in place. His balderack is slung over one shoulder to hang at his opoisite hip, his sword at the ready. His breeches are a grey blue color that stop just below his knees. On his feet he wears light tan sailor's boots. His fingers are adorned with many rings he has collected over his years of travel. On his right hand a peice of leather lays across his palm attached by his middle finger and tied around his wrist. Various colored strips of cloth tied around his wrist as mementos from the women he has had affairs with.
Personality: Very smart but hides it very well by acting like a drunk bumbling idiot. Very good at talking his way out of situations that could end up with him dead or injured. Prefers to negotiate instead of fight, but will if necessary. He is very charming and crafty. He likes to think of himself as a ladies man, but more likely than not his trips to pirate friendly ports end up with at least 2 or 3 (or more) ladies slapping him for something he had done, yet it does not phase him and the ladies are usually very forgiving once he flashes them his trademark smirk and whispers pretty words in their ear to placate them.
History: As a child he learned the skills of map making from his father, but he always wanted to be a sailor. At 13, he got his wish and he began work as a cabin boy for the East India Trading Company. He quickly proved himself a valued crewman and an excellet sailor. He advanced in rank faster than his peers and by age 18 he was allowed to commission a ship to be built for himself so when he was 21 he could take command of her and be his own Captain. He designed the Wicked Wench to be large enough to haul plenty of merchandise but still be the fastest ship in all of the EITC's fleet. Once he was 21 the ship was complete. It was made all with Ebony and Mahogony wood. The Captain's cabin was large enough for a queen sized bed and a full 8 seated table and chairs. In a corner he had a desk where he could do his chartings and other such things. He had a dresser and a sea chest at the foot of his bed along with a changing scrim. For his first year as Captain he had travelled the world trading and selling silks, food, drink, and other wares betwen nations. Then a year later, Cutler Beckett, head of the EITC gave him a new task. He was to go to South Africa and pick up 1000 slaves then deliver them to a few places in the Caribbean and the southern colonies of the Americas. Jack had not been naive about the slave trade but as a child a few of his friends had been african slaves, and he saw nothing different in them from himself and did not understand why these people were forced into slavery. He never liked it, but as long as he was not directly responsible for delivering them into slavery, he had turned a blind eye to it... he prefered to ignore that side of the buisness. But now he was told he had to do the one thing he promised himself he would never do. Later that day he went to his crew and told them of a plan to release the slaves on a deserted island in the caribbean and help them to establish a society there. But in doing so, they would become pirates and rogues in the eyes of the EITC. One of his crewmen was his best friend, Bill Turner. He had just gotten married and had a baby boy, but chose to join Jack on this mission. Bill was his first mate and he would stand by his captain. They had been able to find bayou to set up the would be slave's new society and sailed off once they were thriving there. Just as suspected Beckett was not pleased and searched and found Jack. He sunk the Wicked Wench and captured Jack, Bill and the remaining crew that had not been killed. They were locked in the brig. There was only one cell on board so they were all packed into that one cell. They devised an escape plan after Jack had noticed there was a hole in the side of the ship. They waited til dark then hacked their way through the wood. One of the sailors had a knife in their boot that was missed and they used it to break through the side of the ship. Jack and Bill scaled the side of the ship and quietly, but quickly lowered a longboat into the water without any of the night watch seeing them. Everybody got into the long boat then they rowed away, not to be discovered missing until morning, and Jack and his crew were long gone, floating out in the middle of the sea. Davy Jones came to take them to the after life or to join his crew but Jack struck a deal with Davy Jones. Raise the Wicked Wench from the bottom of the sea and restore her to her former glory and give him 13 years as Captain. As a thank you, an Obeh Woman that was among those rescued from slavery, had given him a compass. It had appeared broken but the needle would swing to whatever he wanted most in this earthly world. Two years later, Jack and Bill are pirates, and have a decent sized crew. They hear the tale of the Aztec Gold and the curse of Cortez.... We know the plot from there.... lol.

My AIM is musikkofthenight.
I'm not going to post a huge profile for Davy Jones since I think everyone is fairly familiar with his tale ;-) I will tell you all, however, that I'm planning on playing up the emotions of Jones, as expressed through his music--especially considering the title and scenario!
As long as you folks can decide on a starting point I'll play along with whatever; plot twists develop naturally so I'm sure this will turn into a great ride.
I'll be RPing in blue. Looking forward to it!
