The King and his men stole the Queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones. The seas be ours, and by the powers, where we will, we’ll roam.
Decades ago, the Brethren had known to bind Calypso’s power. The goddess who once ruled the ocean, was deprived of her omnipotence. She was trapped, in human form. Disillusioned. Humiliated. And angered. A couple of generations later, it were those very same pirates who chose to set her free at the time. Aye… It was *her* he was looking for.
He had known her a long time. And without doubt Tia Dalma favours him. Or.. favoured him. Had favoured him. …Before. A frown came to his features as he considered it. Subconsciously, he hoped she still took a liking to him now. Whatever she may be at the time.
He glanced around, a wary feeling in his gut, as he guided the dingy through the thick fog. He heard a crow nearby, its eerie sound carrying far despite the bad weather. “Lovely.” He murmured under his breath, as he pulled the oars towards him with a subtle amount of strength. A shiver ran down his spine, but he kept going.
If that son of a idiot wouldn’t have let his Bloody! Ship! Sink! he wouldn’t have had to g-
The crow sounded again. His sharp gaze darted over, and he saw a light in the fog. He squinted his eyes, quietly observing.
”Jack Sparrow.” Her voice sounded accented as before. “Jack Sparrow, wat issit tat you seek…?”
He tilted his head slightly at the words. The light he was looking at wouldn’t move. He reached out to grab the oars again to head towards it… but the very second his gaze returned to the boat, he saw *her* sitting on the opposite side of him. In the boat. Tia Dalma, or Calypso, or whatever she was at the time! He let out a startled scream, let go of the oars again, and edged away a little. “Jesus.” He shook off the scare, and breathed normally again.
”You be a stubborn man if ye still believes in ‘im.” A slow catlike grin spread over Calypso’s face, revealing the darkly stained teeth.
“Tia Dalma.” He winced when she pursed her lips in disagreement. “Calypso.” He corrected himself. “You could’ve had a quieter entrance there, you know.”
Again she smiled. Then she leaned forward, running a finger over the high cheekbone of the pirate in front of her. “It sank.” She mused, sounding happy as she said it, “Yer beloved Pearl… ahh…” She closed her eyes and smiled sincerely. “Tat is what you seek.. don’t it?”
He kept his dark eyes directed straight at her, not feeling the need to answer.
Her eyes rolled open again, and she licked her lips slowly. “I can bring ‘er back.” She mused, “Back from the depths… again.” She tilted her head as she observed the pirate’s reaction. “But I demand payment.”
“What?” His voice was decided.
Slowly the corners of her lips curled up in a neat arc, and she let out a excited breath before she spoke. “William… Turner.”
