"Just tell me one thing, Roxy." Tom mumbled, "After you found out I was a cop, did you just stay with me to make sure I wouldn't find out?"

Roxy was afraid of the question, but she listened to Tom and was ready to tell him the truth about everything. When she heard his question however she felt a little bit of relief coming over her. She stepped closer to Tom and layed a hand on his shoulder "No, that was never my intention. As soon as I found out that you were a cop I told myself to put an end to the relationship. It was far too risky to date a cop, obviously.. when your dad is a drugdealer. But.. I'm sorry, I was.." she paused, not sure if she could say this without sounding stupid "I was really in love with you and I couldn't just pretend that was over all of a sudden..so I gave it a long thought and figured I could still be with you if I was careful about bringing you home to my dad or letting you find out anything about my dad. I'm sorry.. I should never have pursued a relationship with you.." She shook her head. How could she not ? Tom was her first love, her first everything, he was so special to her that it hurt no matter what decision she had made.

Tom breathed, relieved by her answer in the least. "Okay. Don't worry. I get it." He said. After all, he'd been the first to risk everything to be with her. She'd practically done the same thing. He couldn't blame her for not breaking up with him - but he still couldn't believe she hadn't told him about her father.

"I guess we both ignored our common sense" she mumbled, looking down. "Will you be okay?" she asked him all of a sudden "I mean..I want to help you, but I know i'll probably only make things worse by being around"

"Yeah.. I'll be fine." Tom nodded, but the hint of a frown was on his features. "I mean.. I'll have to turn in my badge tomorrow, there's gonna be an investigation. But with a little luck I won't lose my job." At least, he hoped so. "I just really wish I could still help with the investigation." He mumbled.

"..why? how can you not despise this case?" she really didn't understand "After what I did..you should scold me for life, that would be a normal reaction, not wanting to get on with the investigation.." Though she understand, this was his life, his job was his life, it defined him. She had taken that away from him. Chapeau..

"I'm a police officer, Roxy. I don't feel good about it when people take justice in their own hands." Tom said. He didn't want to say it out loud - but if this kidnapping would result in Mr Brandburg getting killed.. he knew he'd blame himself. He should've seen he was the dealer sooner, he should've arrested him and none of this would've happened. Subconciously, Tom was already blaming himself. For being stupid, blind with love.. For not doing his job right. It bugged him.

"right.. I know... i'm sorry I did this to you" she couldn't apologize often enough.
By that time Judy came out of the chapel "Roxy? Time to go"
Roxy nodded, not looking at Judy "Will you let me know about tomorrow?" she asked, wanting to make sure he'd be okay after turning in his badge etc. She hugged him briefly and whispered in his ear "I mean it, say whatever to get out of this mess I made..let me try to make it up to you"

Tom didn't respond to her question, not intending to use her to save his own ass. "I'll let you know." He promised, briefly hugging her back.
"My car is right over there, the blue one." Judy pointed out for Roxy. While Roxy went ahead to the car, Judy turned around to look at Tom. There was a slight hint of worry in her eyes. "Are you alright?" She asked, always the one to be concerned about her collegues.
Tom shrugged his shoulders, putting his hands in his pockets. "I don't know." He paused, an awkard silence growing between them, before he spoke up again. "Hey, Jude, yknow about Roxy--"
Judy put a hand on his arm, giving him a warm smile. "Don't worry. I'll take care of her." She promised.
Tom nodded, "Thanks."
"I will." Judy assured him once more. She leaned forward and gave him a brief hug, "We'll see you tomorrow." She smiled, before she turned around to leave with Roxy.

Eventhough Judy was extremely kind to Roxy, Roxy had locked herself in the room Judy had given her, early in the evening. She didn't fell asleep until 3 in the morning, after lots of worrying. Had she done the right thing? Was het father going to be okay? Had she failed as a daughter? She had already failed as a girlfriend and now the idea of failing even more was too painful. The next morning it was time for Roxy's appointment with a psychiatrist, but she had persuaded Judy to drop by Jump Street first, so she could support Tom after he had to hand in his badge..
