During the cab-ride, Tom took a hold of Roxy's hand and held it tightly in his. "Don't worry," He told her again, "Background checks will lead them to Tom Henderson, student. We do our homework," He promised her the police force would not mess up on something as simple as a background check. When they got to the hotel, Tom got out of the car and helped Roxy out as well. He looked down the street, to see whether anyone was watching them as they made it to the entrance.

Roxy didn't even pay attention to anyone else in the streets, which is why it was a good thing Tom was there with her. She headed into the hotel and went straight to the front desk. "Hi, my name is Roxy Brandburg, I believe there is a package for me here?'
"Brandburg..Brandburg.. ah here we are, reservations for one double bedroom ?' she glanced at Roxy and Tom and gave a small smile
"Yes, that's right. Is there a package as well?"
"ehm.. let me check... hm.. oh, indeed' she handed a small brown bag to Roxy 'here's the key to your room. You're in room 108, that is just down the hall and to the right'
"Thank you" Roxy searched through the bag, there was only a mobile phone in it, nothing else..

"C'mon, we'll check out that room," Tom mumbled in Roxy's ear, figuring they might get that phonecall once they were alone. If the kidnappers were watching them, they'd wait for them to find some privacy until they'd share further orders. Tom lead Roxy down the hall and opened room 108. The rest of the police hadn't followed them into the hotel to stay low-key, but Tom had a comm device hidden to keep in touch with them if necessary.

Roxy opened the door and walked inside. After walking two steps into the room the phone started ringing. It scared her and so she jumped up. She glanced over at Tom 'it's them..' she opened the lid of the phone, put it up to her ear and held her breath as she listened.

The kidnappers told Roxy to deliver the money to an empty warehouse, on a construction site in the middle of the city. There, they'd exchange the money for her father. Tom listened along to the conversation.. the place they suggested wasn't exactly as public as the police would've hoped, but they didn't get to call the shots. They just needed to go along with it, and get both Roxy and her dad out safe and sound.

'okay... okay... bye' she mumbled and hung up 'so.. we've got an hour' she mumbled, a bit dumb-struck. 'do you know where we need to go or how to get there? maybe we should take a taxi or something?" Roxy had no idea whether the police had anything in mind on how to come with them without being noticed by the kidnappers.

"We can walk there. The rest of the team will follow us.. we'll be fine," Tom assured Roxy.

'Okay.. let's do this' Roxy grabbed the hotelkeys and the package of money. She walked out the door and waited for Tom. When he walked up to her she held out her hand 'it's probably more believable if we walk hand in hand.. we can't screw this up in any way' she mumbled.

Tom took a hold of her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, "Don't forget to keep breathing," He told her, her nervousness radiating from her every pore.

Roxy let out a small laugh 'sure, easier said then done' she admitted, but tried to think about it anyway. They walked through the streets of New York, following the signs. Eventually they stood still in front of a large empty building 'this is it right?" she asked Tom, not sure since there wasn't a person or car in side, it was completely deserted, or so it seemed.
