Tom's mind was far from there with her, though. He was thinking 'bout the case, thinking this over.. hoping that the captain would take their suggestions serious. Roxy's dad had to get out of this mess safe and sound, and waiting around for better options was risky. He didn't like doing nothing.

Once they were in Tom's appartment Roxy took off her coat and her shoes "ehm.. listen.. should we talk about this ? I mean.. sleepingarrangements or something ? I can sleep on the couch if sharing the bed is too weird.. ?"

"Yeah," Tom said, until he realized it sounded like he answered her last question, "I mean, we should talk about this." He hurried to say. "Uh. Does it weird you out?"

Roxy shook her head "No.. not at all" she walked over to him, caressing his cheek "I just don't want to put you into the position of having to deal with all of this too quickly. I betrayed you, I can understand if you need some time to process it all.." She searched his eyes for an answer

Tom shrugged, "I'm not gonna process it while you're on the couch," He gave her a slight smirk. "We'll share the bed."

"Okay," Tom briefly pulled her close, stealing a light kiss from her lips before he let her go to the bathroom.

Roxy took a long hot shower. She was washing down her fears, her bad deeds, she tried to feel safe again, which was incredibly difficult.
About half an hour later Roxy came into Tom's bedroom, wearing her towel. She took her backpack to fish her nightdress out.

By the time that she emerged from the shower Tom had dozed off, but he was stirred awake when she walked through his room. His gaze turned to watch her.

Roxy stumbled a bit with her nightdress and towel but managed to put it on without flashing Tom too much  She brushed her hair and then walked over to the bed, sitting down on the side. "I never thought a shower could make all your troubles disappear, but it did.. for a good 20 minutes" she smiled a little as she layed down. |
