"Aye.. aye, alrigh', luv." I tell her. My eyes divert to the rigging above us. I'm getting distracted again. As she remains there for another few seconds, I remember my promise to be nice though. I force myself to glance back to her again. "Aye, Cassy." I take her hand and pull her close, pressing a brief kiss on her lips. "Sleep tight, luv."

I nod a little, giving him a final look before I quickly move away, getting all horribley emotional again. I enter the cabin and peel off my boots, making my feet hurt even more. Wonderful. One thing than another. I sigh and head into the bed, pulling the covers over me. At least there's one good reason to be home.

I don't join her for the rest of the night. Full of energy thanks to the reunion with the Pearl, I supervise the gathering of the supplies, and bringing the ship back to the best shape to sail again in the morning. I'm quite grateful for the fact that Cassandra is asleep. At least that allows me to work properly without her giving me those accusing looks, as if I reject her. That wouldn't be the case, ever. I just have to reconsider some priorities. And my main one now is to set sail, and get back to my life as it was normally.

The next day I wake quite early, pulling the sheets from my head to see whether it's light out yet.The sun looks as if it's just rising. A dim shade illuminates the cabin. I sit up a little, clearing my throat, before I get up.

By the time she wakes, we've just sailed off. I'm at the helm, commanding my crew around, so I fail to notice her when she arrives updecks.

I pay that no mind anyway, deciding to work with the crew, like nothing ever happened these last few weeks. And it really does seem like it was just some horrible nightmare... as I look at the ocean surrounding us, and that glimmer of land in the distance. My hands reach to tighten some of the sails, avoiding eye contact with any of the men as I do. I can tell that the're staring at me. You would have thought by now they would have got over it. I continue my routine of the basic errands, mindlessly, supressing my horrid, depressing thoughts concerning this ship and it's captain.

By midday, the sun is burning hotly over our heads. I quite like it, it does remind me of the Caribbean and easier times. But it also gives me an excuse to at some point wander belowdecks to find some lunch and shade. Before I go, I look around for Cassandra, to see if she'll be joining me.

I'm already below decks by that point, hiding from the heat and reading my book (which I had missed, dearly ) with an apple in my other hand. Sitting amongst the supplies.

When I fail to find her, I go belowdecks by myself. Wandering to the galley, I eventually do find her there. "Ello luv." I grin to see her with her book in her hand. "I should've guessed ye'd be hidin' away with tha' thing."

I smirk a little, pressing it against me as I look up at him, "I nearly melted up there, I hate this time of day."
