Sera looked up at him doubtfully.. she stayed silent for a while, then sighed and pulled a hand through her messy hair. "Sorry." She mumbled, looking down. He had a point.

"yeah..you must be pretty good at your job than" she said, since the killer did come back, only they were not around.
"hey, I know you're pissed, I'm sorry we lied and this wasn't supposed to go like this. You girls were supposed to find out when the killer was in jail and all was good again.. shit happens" he mumbled.

Tom gave her a small smile, "Opinions will differ on that, I guess. Some might think a police officer shouldn't bend the rules over any case."
"But now what..?" Sera asked, her eyes still down on the ground.

"But in this case it was the right thing to do, right? If we'd stayed at that empty building noone would have heard us screaming when that killer came after us" she mumbled, actually standing on Tom's side now.. for now, for as far as she knew. Everything, the confession, the killer attacking, everything made her unsure of how she felt.
"Captain'll come.. kick our asses and we'll get back to catching the killer.. or not, depends how serious the captain will take all this"

That much was totally true. If he wouldn't have let the girls stay here, they could've been dead by now. Whatever the cost, them still being alive was worth it.
"Is there anything Stace or I could do to help?" Sera sounded hesitant.

at that moment Captain Fuller and three police officers came up the stairs..
"someones coming" Stacy hopped off the kozijn, slightly hurting her leg, then she moved behind Tom "who's coming?" clearly she wasn't over the shock yet.
"Nah, I don't think so.. this is up to Tom and me.. as for what the captain wants to do to get the killer.. I don't know, he might need you guys "

"TOM, DOUGLAS" Fuller walked into Tom's apartment but stumbled upon Tom and Stacy
"What is this ? Where is Douglas?" he asked while observing the empty room, seeing that Tom had really gone through an extremely length to cover up his tracks. He had this all thought through.
"Uhoh, showtime" Doug got up, will you be okay in here? I have to go to the other room"

"Doug's..." Tom's gaze went to the door when his partner walked in. "...There." He nodded towards him.
Sera had followed Doug to the other room though, since she didn't want to be alone. She looked at Fuller, feeling a little frightened, and backed over to where Stacey was too. "Are you okay?" She whispered.

"Yes.. I think.." Stacy took a few steps back, Fuller scared her too.
"Guys, take these two girls outside please" he asked the t hree police officers. Once they were outside Fuller slammed the door shut "I give you two an assignment, expecting you two can handle this and guess what.. You guys failed!" He shook his head "I'm disappointed in you two. What brought this up? What made you think it is okay to break the privacy rule?!"
Doug didn't say anything but looked at the ground. This was Tom's turn to speak up.
