"Technically," Tom said carefully, "I don't know whether it's against any rules to have people stay over at your home, even if they're involved in a case." He knew he was heading for thin ice, but he had been thinking about it.. He couldn't regret what he did - so the best he could do was convince Fuller that what he did wasn't wrong.
Once outside, Sera looked at the door when Fuller yelled. "Do you think they're really in trouble?" She whispered to Stacey.

"I advice you to read the rules AGAIN mr. Hanson" He glared at Tom "You endangered not only those two ladies who you couldn't protect, but you now also endangered yourself. You think the killer doesn't have buddies who wanna whack a police officer?!
"eh yeah..really really" she said, still hearing Fuller yell "But.. they deserve that.. right?" she asked, not sure how Sera felt about the two cops now.

"That's not fair, captain." Tom glanced over to him, with a frown on his features. "If those girls would've stayed where they were before, the killer would've gotten to them for sure. Sure, they were in danger, but at least they're still alive!"
Sera bit her lip, "I don't know any more.. It's.. they kept us safe.. But they lied.. and it's confusing."

"Were you two not to stay on the streets and protect everyone there? These girls LIVED on the streets, you would've protected them there in stead of leaving them here all alone, am I right?"
Doug nodded "Yes, you are captain...but" Doug looked up at Fuller, knowing that his but did not make him happy "We tried to look out for these girls cause we thought the killer was after the most, but then we had to go back to the street for this assignment, and and if you would've given them a safe guarded place this wouldn't have happened!'
"Are you saying this is MY fault Douglas?!"
"No sir.."
"and we weren't even safe" Stacy nodded "but they meant to do good.. right?"

"Bottom line is," Tom tried to save Doug's ass just like Doug was saving his, "The girls are still alive. That's what matters right? The last week the killer didn't get to any one anymore." He paused, and shrugged his shoulders, "I know we didn't arrest him yet, but at least nothing seriously bad happened."
"Yeah, I think so." Sera glanced to the door. "...I just hope things won't get worse now."

Fuller looked at Doug, then Tom and then Doug again "This case if far at its end" he muttered "We're going down to the station to figure out what next step we need to take, I'll deal with you two over there.." He turned around and opened the door again, walking out
Stacy sneaked back in "What's happening? are you guys fired?"
"Not yet" Doug answered.

Tom breathed in deeply, "Hopefully not at all." He murmered. He wondered what Fuller's plan was for Sera and Stacey now though.
Sera had been wondering the same thing. When Fuller walked out of the room, she didn't go back inside like Stacey. Instead, she walked to Fuller quickly. "What about me and Stacey now?"

"You girls are now our most important witnesses, you'll be coming with us. We're going to keep you at the station until other arrangements are made" He answer strictly
"yeah, I hope nothing too serious will happen to you guys."Stacy didn't know what else to say. She had no idea how things went at a police station, whether they would just get a warning for something like this, or immediate suspension, so she couldn't say anything better than this.

"Yes, you HAVE to come. Keywitnesses need to go to the station, be taken care of etcetera. There should not be a reason for you two not to come to the station.. or should there be?" he asked, eyeing Sera suspiciously.
Doug headed out the door, standing still next to Sera and Fuller.
Stacy stayed behind, she started grabbing all her things again "Tom ? .. not a word okay? At the station.. you know nothing about me.. lying or not..promise me."
