One of the super mutants that went by Lumi, illuminated up the whole hall with a light as bright as the sun that would burn anyone's eyes if they kept them open long enough. It was a plenty good distraction for himself and the other supermutant that had done most of the killing to escape unscathed. Their job had been silent, but a deadly attack. And not to get involved in a fight with the X-men. This was supposed to be a quiet and quick death for those-- and now it would be too loud and messy. Not their style really. There would always be more time to catch them unaware.
Taryn shielded her eyes after stepping into the hallway for a minute until the light fizzled out and left them in the dark and empty hallway.

The second Logan reached the hallway he slid out the adamantium claws, ready to fight. But someone turned the fucking sun on inside and he couldn't see a damn thing. It felt like his eyes would've burned out of his skull if he hadn't closed them. To his frustration he could heard the attackers walk, five pair of footsteps, maybe more. He fucking smelled them, but as the light faded and the hallway was visible again - they were gone. "What the FUCK?!" He cursed, as the other X-men came up by his side.
"What happened?" Storm rushed into one of the attacked rooms. "Oh my god!" She exclaimed at the sight of the hurt kids. "Where's Hank?! We need medical attention here urgently!"
In the meanwhile Logan made it to the door and disappeared outside - to see whether there was any trace of the attackers, any way to follow them and cut their throats open for attacking the school.

Taryn finally peeked out of the room she'd been hiding in, the opposite of what X-men were no doubt supposed to do, but she didn't want to die. It wasn't on her immediate list of things to do. This was horrible timing on her part-- it made her look suspicious to no ends.
She could help now though. If they let her.

The whole school was buzzing with activity now. Some of the kids were crying, others running around wanting to help. It was chaos, but some strict words from Storm settled things down slightly. Colossus took every one of the kids who wasn't hurt to the ground level, accompanied by some others to make sure they could defend themselves if there was another attack.
Storm and Hank McCoy stayed behind to try to help the wounded. "Where's Logan?" Storm asked as she pressed her hand down on the large cut one kid had, trying to stop the bleeding. "Went after them." Hank answered. He got the first aid kit and was trying to do his best. Storm's eyes returned to the child underneath her hands. "I hope he fucking gets them." She says silently - the fact that she was swearing betraying her state of mind.

Taryn debated on whether to follow the children and others down to the lower levels or stay to help. Eventually just the cries of the children convinced her to suck up her bravery and go into one of the rooms where the hurt children were.
"...I can help them."

Storms eyes shifted to the door, locating Taryn and looking at her doubtfully. "How?" Where had Taryn been during the attack? Was she supposed to put trust into someone she didn't know? Cos the way it sounded Taryn was offering more than another helping hand - if that was the case she'd say 'I can help you', instead of 'them'. She looked at the pale face of the child under her hands, that was gasping for breath now.. and made up her mind. "Help them." She said firmly. "However."

Taryn went forward and then shyly looked back at them, "Look away." She got a few strange looks, but when they moved their eyesight away, she put her hands over the wound and let that familar tingle go through her and then out her fingertips to the child. The wound was an easy one to heal, but even then it took some energy away from Taryn, not enough to show-- though she guessed there were more children to heal in nearby rooms.

While the entire school was buzzing with activity, Kitty made her way over to where Storm and Taryn were. It did not take her that long to figure out what Taryn was doing with the kids, so Kitty started to collect kids from the rooms which were further away. After some time she plopped out of one of the walls with a kid on her back. "She is the last one" she informed the rest.

After Taryn had healed the first child Storm looked back - seeing the color back in the child's face, the wound gone from his body. "Oh my god.." She realized that Taryn was the only one who could really help these children fast now. Her gaze darted to side when Kitty entered through the wall, with another child. Then another. Storm got up and stood back, speechless with gratitude that moment.

Taryn looked around her at all the kids that Kitty had brought in and swallowed hard. She'd never had to heal so many before-- but these were children, she didn't have the option of picking and choosing here.
"Which ones are worse off?"
