Meanwhile, Adam had noticed that it was getting more crowded near the bar, and he decided that it was time to move. The yapping women were almost oversounding his thoughts, and he was really more in a mood to enjoy a few more drinks in relative peace and quiet. Besides, he did have some thinking to do.
As a new crewmember of the Black Pearl, he was to leave his old life in Tortuga behind. And that included selling his properties that he wouldn't take along. His house, for instance. That should grant him quite some money. Of course, it was a bit like burning your bridges, but if he'd leave the house behind unguarded it would only be a matter of time until someone broke into the damn thing and made it theirs anyway. There was no use in leaving such a thing behind in Tortuga - you'd come home to nothing. So he better make profit of it, he figured. Besides... he wasn't the type that needed a security of a place to come home to. At least.. not anymore.
So, Adam figured he'd best start talking to some connections of his (friends, and enemies both) to find someone who would put his belongings 'on the market'. It was time to burn those bridges, and he didn't care much.
Before he left though, he gave Ana (whose name he had just learnt), a well-meant grin. "Interesting meeting you, Ana, first mate of the Black Pearl, five foot three." He told her. He waved a barmaid over, who rushed to put another bottle of rum down on the bar in exchange for few coins. Once he'd paid for the liquor, Adam took the bottle and put it in Ana's hands. "For you, a peace offering." He told her with a hint of amusement in his voice. Not waiting for a reply, he walked away from the bar - and the group of people near to it.

(aww)
Arielle shrugged. Suit yourself, Sparrow. She turned back around to face the new girl. "Is there anything I can help you with? I'm due to leave Tortuga in a little bit. See, there's this golden statue I'm in search of and I want to get there first." It actually is time to go, she thought. Away from these people with no use for me. It sucks to be undermined. She stood up and stretched. "Good day."

Ana was about to get pissed at Adam for not stopping to tease her about her hight.. however when the bottle of rum appeared in her hands, she decided she would punch him some other time. She grinned a bit to herself, opened the bottle of rum and watched him walk away before she decided that it might be time to start doing her job and find a crew.

(Sorry – may I be allowed to RP in first? It's really weird for me not to haha. If not then I can change back.) To be honest, I was less than in the mood to leave the tavern. My last voyage was around a year in length, during which time I had lost so many things (things I shall not divulge in), but I was less than in the mood to make new acquaintances with wobbly-legged young women, or men for that matter, when clearly no one cared. I straightened up. I was after a golden statue, as I told her, but there was no point looking for it when I was sure it was buried deep within the ocean. I had no way to be sure, it wasn’t as if I had a compass to point to what I wanted most. The golden statue was quite well-known in these waters, apparently holding mystical properties and such and such. Me, all I was interested in was the gold and treasure and how much it was worth. You can’t get rich in a day unless you’re a pirate, one of several reasons I am sure I became one. The barmaid handed me another bottle of rum (courtesy of the new and drunk girl), which I gladly took, and turned when I felt a pair of eyes on my back. I looked behind me to see a beautiful blonde woman – neither young nor old, hard to tell, but very beautiful – looking at me, more or less glancing at me. Ah well, people do that here. I have been told I, myself, am beautiful, and I won’t argue that point, but beautiful people get stared at quite a lot. The woman’s staring made me feel uneasy and yet calm at the same time. I decided to indulge myself in a game of Tortugan Poker so I would be able to see the woman from where I was.

Mae moved a bit, and leaned in against the wall, hmm, looking for someone to crew with my foot, she thought with a smirk, watching Jack talk up the young blond girl. Then she glanced back at the girl she had been talking to, only long enough to see that she was leaving. She pushed flat against the wall to let a man leave the group, and very soon it was just her and the black girl who was surveying things like she owned the place. Seems like shes the one really in charge here, Mae decided. She watched the woman and then turned and watched a table nearby where someone was just accused of cheating in a game of cards. She watched as a brawl began, laughing quietly and sipping her rum.

In the split second before replying to him, Taika glanced over at the woman whom randomly interrupted. This spontaneous ramble seemed to be something the Captain took in his stride and without much bother she continued the somewhat broken conversation; "Or maybe I did. Jest in a more ambiguous fashion."

I smirked as I saw the man next to me, someone named Flint, get caught cheating in the game. Trade up a three for an ace of the deck, when the dealer already has one. We restarted the match (not until after I managed to take some of the money and Flint was kicked out). This was very boring, as one would imagine, but I needed some gold. There was no need to play, though, for moments later, Flint started a brawl. I rolled my eyes, pushed my chair back, and looked back up at the blonde woman. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to talk to her, after all, Jack was right there, and the problem with men is they think they’re the center of everything. I’d rather he didn’t think I was looking for him. There was also the probem of me feeling rather confused about all this, about the woman, and what in the devil’s name I was doing in Tortuga when I knew there were other pirates in search of the golden statue, and other things, that I wanted.

"Oh really?" Jack raised an eyebrow, a slight smirk playing on his lips. He didn't like the idea that he could be easily manipulated by a woman, but he did like the fact that his charm had worked again. "So... that means you wouldn't want payment?" He asked curiously, after all, she had said she wasnt a whore.
