He was right, there was nothing Sadie could pass as justification for what she did. She sat there in compleat silence for what seemed like forever. Still with her eyes locked on the horizon she said "Yer right, theres nothing stopin' ye from makin' me walk the plank." She turned her whole body to look at him and continued "But I can be of help Jack I mean it give me one day as part of yer crew and I promise I can prove it to ye."

"Ah, but ye see, luv.. it just doesn't work that way. Stowaways are usually not regarded as potential future crewmembers at all." He didn't want to throw her overboard though. A lot of things could be said of Jack Sparrow, but to kill off someone who'd been taking a leap towards freedom, was not one of the things he was known for. Instead, Jack nodded at two crewmembers who were standing nearby, "Gentlemen, be so kind to escort our guest to her new residence." He told them. "Which will be the brig."

As the men took her by the arms she struggled to get away, putting up a good fight but they were still a bit to strong for her "Jack, please." she began to plead with him. "I came on yer ship for freedom, bein' locked in the brig doesn' very well give that to me does it? You can't do this." She knew he didn't care though so finally she gave up fighting back and let them lock her in the brig. 'He can't leave me in here forever' She said to herself after the men had went back on deck, 'could he?' She began thinking that she made a mistake, coming abored the pearl, and even bringing jack his money. Sure it gat her out of Tortuga, but just to be locked up anyways. Before long she had fallin asleep on the floor.

It was not until the next day that the stairs down to the brig creaked with someone's approach. Jack descended to the level of the brig, and walked up to the bars, behind which he found Sadie sleeping on the flour. In order to wake her up, he let the keyring rattle against the bars, making noise. "Wake up, luv. I’ve a proposition for you."

The rattling of the keys startled sadie awake. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands and streatched her arms and legs to wake up her body. "I'm listening." She said then stood up and walked over to the bars were Jack was standing.

Jack crossed his arms over his chest as he regarded her, the keyring dangling casually on one of his fingers. "Make ye no mistake, Sadie,” he said, "’Tis lucky y’are, that I’ve not killed ye already and made my own life easier by a good sight." Even as she stood there, a faint pride was over her despite her unlucky circumstances. Aye, life would be easier without a lass like her around. Surely. But then again, Jack was not known for chosing the easy way of things.
"You'll not be my crewmember." He started, "Ye've already wrecked my trust in ye before ye ever could come close to being one. So, instead of that, I grant ye a passage to the next port where we lay anchor. But bein’ as I’m a demanding sort, I’ve several demands to make of you in exchange for said passage." He quircked his eyebrow, testing her attention.

There was no denying that she lost Jacks trust and she knew that before he had even told her. She pursed her lips when he made the offer but suspicion took over her thoughts "Ye know Jack I'm no whore and I don' plan on bein' 'the captians' whore just so ye don' kill me." Pride was a very important thing to her and she wasn't about to lose it now. "Ye best kill me now if that was yer plan."

"Then I suppose it’s a good thing, indeed, that I wasn’t suggesting what you’re suggesting I’m suggesting." Jack smirked, though he purposely let his gaze drop over her figure once, looking at her from top to toe and back. "...Aye."
He clapsed his hands behind his back and rocked slightly on his heels. "You're work on this ship, as payment for your passage, is threefold. One, you're my laundress now, Sadie. Secondly, you will be our cook. And thirdly, I have quite a bit of sail in one of the storage rooms. Old sail, which got torn during a last attack.. You will stitch this up again, making it good as new." He paused, then extended his hand through the bars so she could shake it. "Do we have an accord?"

Sadie rolled her eyes as Jack looked her up and down but didn't say anything. She listened to what he was offeringing, and it was much more then she expected. When his hand came through the bars she looked at it for a moment then slowly and cautiously slid her hand in to his to shake without a word. She was more then greatful that he was doing this for her, let alone alowing her live. Though, she still had a the small thought in her head that there had to be some way she could become part of his crew and she'd have to figure it out in the little time she had left on the ship. A smile quickly grew on her face then went away just as fast, "ok" she replied in almost a whisper.

"Good." Jack drew his hand back and fetched the keys, popping one of them into the lock and opening the brig for her. He wasn't sure when they would next go to port, or even where, but no matter how long Sadie's stay on the Pearl was going to be, he trusted her not to do anything more... stupid. She had her share of stupidity for the next few weeks, Jack figured.
"C'mon," He gestured her to follow, as he showed her some of the places of the ship which would be of interest to her. The galley, of course, if she'd be to cook. And the storage room he mentioned where a load of ripped canvas was waiting for her.
