Without any hesitation Barbossa grabed a rope and swungover the edge to the navy ship. He ran in front of the man who had taken Joanna and pulled out his sword.
"Wha's in yer head boy?" He asked the yound officer just before he let Joanna drop to the ground and they began to battle. The two went on, fighting back and fourth like this for some time. Finally the officer dropped his sword and Barbossa stuck his sword into his body and quickly pulled it out. He grabbed Joanna and the two swung over the edge, back to the pearl.
Barbossa wasn't exaclty sure of where he'd stabed the officer, or how deep, or if he'd even killed him. All that mattered to him was that Joanna was okay.

Joanna woke up with a massive headache. She felt someone's arms wrapped around her. She looked up and saw Barbossa.
"What happenned?" Joanna asked. "My head hurts."
She saw movement behind Barbossa's shoulder. Joanna saw the soldier she was fighting was still alive. He pulled out a knife. He moved his arm back and threw it at Barbossa.
"HECTOR!!" Joanna screamed.
She moved him out of the way and let the knife hit her. She gasped as she felt the excruciating pain.

Before he had a chance to answer her, she screamed and pushed him out of the way. When Barbossa heard her gasp he turned to look at her. 'Oh no.' He thought. When he seen that the knife was just in her arm, he knew she'd be fine. He turned to the soldier, pulled out his pistol and shot him right in the heart and watched as he fell over the side of the Pearl. Barbossa picked up Joanna, carried her to his cabain and set her in the bed. "Stay here I'll be right back." he told her as he went and got bandages and what-not. Before long he had her wound all bandaged up and the battle was over. "How ya feeling?" He asked ooc: Just thought I'd speed it up a bit.  |

ooc: fine with me.  "My arm hurts", Joanna said. "Other than that, I'm fine." She smiled at Barbossa. What she said wasn't entirely true. She felt nervous when she looked at him. Was it possible she was falling in love with him? The man who has taken care of her for as long as she could remember? "Captain--Hector", Joanna said. "I've heard of a legend. There's an island called Isla De Muerta. It has a stone chest that contains Aztec Gold. If anyone takes a piece of the gold, they can never feel any pain. They won't die either. If we take this treasure, we'll be immortal. Interested?" |

Barbossa stood up from the chair he was sitting in next to his bed. "Aztec Gold, Ya say?" He said and rubbed his beard and began walking back and fourth around the room. "What else do ye know about said gold?" He asked.

"There is a downside to taking the gold", Joanna said. "I've heard that the gold is cursed. If you take a piece, not only will you not feel pain, you won't feel anything. No warmth, no coolness, nothing. It is also said, you become a skeleton when you step into the moonlight. But all that's just a story. I don't believe in curses and myths like those."

Barbossa began to chuckle.. "Sounds like a gost story ta me." He said. "I havn't believed in ghost stories since I was a young lad." He went on smilling at her. "This Isla De Muerta.. Ya know it's location?" He asked, sitting back in the chair next to the bed and taking her hand in his. 'What if the curse is real? Could I never feel this again?' he thought as he looked down at their hands together. 'Nay, I doubt it.'

Joanna blushed as Barbossa held her hand.
Maybe I do love him.
"Aye, I know where it is."
Joanna told him the location of the island. The Black Pearl traveled day and night to get to Isla De Muerta. She was interested in learing if the stories were true.
ooc: i'm too lazy to write about the voyage. VOYAGE OVER! lol
They finally arrived to the island. Everyone went into the cave. They couldn't believe what they saw. There were mountains of gold and other valuable items. In the middle of the cave was the stone chest that supposedly held the cursed gold. Joanna walked up to it and opened the lid. Inside was the gold.
"Are you sure you're willing to take it?" she asked.
She didn't want to risk losing her ability to feel. Especially if she would have a future with Barbossa.
