Barbossa nodded. He knew it ment alot to her, and it would be helpful if he went with. "Aye." He said. "Are ye ok?"

"Not really", Joanna answered. "A few days from today, it'll be the first anniversary of my family's death. I need to be at Tortuga."
She took Barbossa's hand.
"I want you to come with me."

"Where my home used to be. I don't think there'll be anything left, but that's where my mother and sister died. I just want to go there."
Tears formed in he eyes.
"Can we just leave it at that now? I don't want to say much about it."

He rubbed her back. "Tha's fine by me. Whate'r makes ye feel at peace." He told her. He felt bad for her. He's grown to love her over the past year. There was a small part of him that wished she was older so there could be something more between them. He felt a strong bond with her that he never felt with anyone else.

Once they made it to Tortuga, the crewmen were all going in their own directions, in search of good drink, wenches and other things of that matter. He stood next to Joanna, and could tell she was upset, but he knew this was something she had to do. "Are ye sure ready fer this?" He asked.

Joanna nodded.
"Please don't say anything more about this. This is already hard enough."
They walked through the town and toward the countryside. Joanna remembered the way to her home. It was hard for her to go back to where her family was taken from her. When they reached the place, tears came to her eyes. She was right. There was nothing left of her house except for a big black spot where it once stood. Joanna slowly walked toward it. She fell to her knees and cried.
"Mommy, Papa, Crystal... why did you have to leave me?"
When Barbossa came to hold her, she pushed him away. Joanna wiped her tears away. She pulled out of her pocket a single red rose and laid it on the ground.
"I miss you all", she said.
Joanna suddenly remembered the times she had with her mother and sister. May always told her she wouldn't be around forever. Joanna remembered the song May taught her in case she was ever lonely.
"Remember I will still be here, as long as you hold me in your memory", Joanna started slowly.

bic: Barbossa stood close behind and listened to Joannas beautiful singing. When she was finished he knelt down beside her and put his arms around her. She baried her face in his chest and began crying. He held her tight and started rocking back and fourth. He wanted to tell her it would all be ok, or not to cry, or anything to make her feel better, but he knew there was nothing that could make this go away.

Joanna cried as Barbossa tried to make her feel better. She tried to stop. She wanted to be strong for Barbossa. She couldn't. She remembered what her mother told her. People who cry when they're hurt are stronger than the people who hold their pain inside.Joanna calmed down a bit. She looked up at Barbossa and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "My father told me to do that if someone you care about does something fo you", she explained to Barbossa. ooc: aww their first kiss  |

Barbossa felt a smirk tug at the corner of his mouth. He couldn't beleive she actually wanted to kiss him on the cheek. It was so soft and sweet, almost angelic. He then started to wonder what it ment.. Was there something more there? Or was it just a friendly kiss? He soon disregarded the thought of there being anything more. He figured it would make things much easier if he ignored those thoughts. He wiped away her tears and stood her up. Flashing her a slight smirk, brushed off her knees, then did the same for himself. "What say we stop at the Tavern 'nd have a drink fer yer family?" He suggested.
