"Aye. My apologies, miss," Jack replied, his smile growing into a grin as he let go of her hand. His own then dropped into his damp lap where he idly toyed with the cloth he still held. Shifting his dark gaze to the bar where the coin sat, he lofted a brow as he looked back to the woman. "That's a fine thing for you to do for something as simple as spilling a bit of rum. However, me stomach's still rumblin' after eating only an apple. Do ya think I could have a piece of bread rather than another drink?"
He could hardly believe the words he was saying, but they were indeed true, as the delicious smell of the fresh baked goods had made it to his nostrils.

Moments after Astoria looked away from the pirate, a bread girl entered the tavern and had a quick exchange with the bartender. 'Poor lass.' She thought, looking her up and down. 'She'd be better off on a ship.' Of course not everyone was cut out for life at sea. However, the girl reminded her of the days she used to walk up and down these very streets with a basket of oranges when she was only 13 years old. It wasn't a very good job, but it brought home a bit of coin.
But when she seen the girl spill rum all over the pirate she couldn't help but let out a loud laugh. She didn't say anything though, and just watched everyone around her.

Quinn met his gaze once again. She glanced down at the basket under her arm. She reached in a took out a small loaf. "If you don't tell my father," She said a little nervously, holding the loaf out to him. "I'm Quinn ... by the way," She added after a moment's hesitation. She was getting later and later on her deliveries with every passing moment, but for some reason, that was the last thing on her mind right now. This stranger was fascinating.

Jack turned to glance at the woman who had laughed out loud, his brows furrowing slightly. "A rum in the lap is a wonderful way to cool the body," he said sarcastically, a slight smirk pulling at his lips. "You should try it."
He then turned back to the bread girl, taking the loaf with a nod of thanks. "I don't know your father from Adam, love," he replied honestly, then reaching to scoot the coin she had put on the bar back towards her. "But you have my word, Quinn." He paused. "I'm Jack. Captain Jack Sparrow."

Quinn smiled a little, "Thank you," She told the pirate, taking the coin back and slipping it into her pocket. She meant her words for his word, and for being so kind about the spillage. She'd expected him to yell, to call her names, to strike her even. But he just brushed it off with a charming smile. "I ... I should be going," Quinn gave him a slight smile. "Perhaps I will see you again sometime, Jack," She said, a little hopefully, swapping the basket to her other arm and walking past him hurriedly to make her next delivery on time, or at least, not any later than she was already.

Astoria let out a sigh and smirked a bit at the pirates comment. This was actually pretty amusing to her. She stood and made her way toward the two, mug of rum in hand. "Well cap'n forgive me fer not embarrassin' this adorable 'boy meets girl' scene I've been oh so lucky to witness, but it's juss not my thing." She flashed them both a smile. Yes, she'd heard of Jack Sparrow and the stories people tell about him. She was caught off guard a bit when he had said that's who he is, but she sure wasn't intimidated. Sure he probably was a great pirate, but nothing special.

Jack returned the smile. "As I said, no worries. T'was nice meeting ya, Missy. I hope we get the chance to do it again," he said to her as she left. He then took a bite of the bread she had given him, happy to find it tasted as good as it smelled.
Chewing slowly, he turned once more to face the woman who had laughed, his eyes curious. He was glad Quinn had not heard the woman's comments, or at least seemed to have ignored them as she exited the tavern. "Are ya jealous?" he wondered, pausing to swallow his mouthful of food. "You must be stuck mucking the cargo holds all the time and not get a lot of human interaction, eh?"

(switching to first person for my posts just because I prefer to ) I frown slightly, trying to hold back my face from blushing. I don't appreciate his cocky smile, but at least he was decent enough to give it back to me.. taking this into account I think he deserves my rather dignified side. I don't smile back I just control myself and slowly take it back from him, ".. Thank you." I nod. Now that I'm less flustered, though, I give him a glance up and down. He's clearly a sailor, could even be captain material.. very interesting. I slowly find myself smirking, "What brings you to Tortuga, I haven't seen you around much before."

Jealous?! Astoria let out another loud, rather obnoxious laugh at the concept of her being jealous about this pirate and the bread girl. "Nope, sorry. Yer, errm. . . Not my type." She said looking him up and down disgustedly. She had absolutely no intentions of elaborating on what she meant by the statement.
His next comment. . . the rather sexest one. . . made her raise an eyebrow. "Oh, my apologies. . I don't believe I've introduced meself properly, cap'n. . I'm Astoria. ." She held out her hand "Cap'n Astoria." She smirked.

"I'm looking for an opportunity, keeping myself to myself," Bailey explained briefly, giving her a wink, holding his hands behind his back, "But I can't resist coming to the aid of a beautiful woman," He flashed another smile, reaching a hand out an tracing two fingers down her cheek. "And what, may I ask," He said, taking back his hand, putting it behind his back again. "Is a woman of such high standard doing in a town of such low?" He asked.
