Bailey looked at her and without hesitation pointed a finger in Jack's direction. He leaned closer, in a conspirators whisper, told her, "As I said, I'm looking for promotion," He gave her a wink, suddenly trusting her enough to let her in a little on his plans.

"Do I sense a bit of mutiny in your tone." I smirk, leaning in even closer, when I whisper in reply, "Good luck with that. You'll have to kill that man before you take his ship from him." I sit back again, and begin to stand up, "Don't take that too literally though. He's a good man once you get to know him."

"I'll have to take your word for it," Bailey smirked a little, standing up with her. He put his arm across her shoulders as they walked across the tavern towards Sparrow.

I shrug him away, though not in a rude fashion, once we get nearer to the on-going confrontation. I would presume Jack would take better to a girl introducing an acquaintance, than a friend who looks a bit more than a friend. We stand there, listening to the arguement for a while, along with a few others, before I decide to break it up for a moment, ".. 'Ello, Captain Sparrow, back in town, I see." I glance to the woman, "And still with the lady-troubles."

Jack didn't lower his sword as he glanced distractedly towards Cleo, having heard her voice from off to the side. "Everyone's wanting to speak to ol' Jack today, eh?" he wondered to himself under his breath. A bemused half-smile tugged at his lips as he continued to eye Astoria and her weapon.
"Your timing, not that I mind it entirely as it might save the Captain here from a beating and loads of embarrassment, is most unusual," he then said to the map maker, his attention now on her after a long moment. "Do you always converse with those who are about to engage in a sword fight or are you simply lacking excitement this morning?"

"Obviously, I am lacking excitement." I tell him, plainly, a grin on my face, "So excite me, Captain, buy yerselves a map, and speak to my colleague 'ere.. I bet you that it ends up with a rather better outcome."

Jack laughed and he shook his head, his dreadlocks and braids swinging with the movement below his hat. "A map? How do you know for sure that I am in need of one?"
His eyes then flicked to the man standing next to Cleo, one he recognized as the man who had been sitting on the barrel outside the tavern earlier, flipping a coin. Jack's gaze narrowed. "And who might you be?" he wondered.

Bailey stepped forward, giving Cleo a slight grin at the 'excitement' comment, they'd both had more excitement that they'd expected already. "Bailey," He introduced himself to Sparrow, hiding his distaste as he stuck his hand out to shake. "First Mate on the Bellafonte,"

I smirk, I knew he was bad at remembering faces, those of women especially, it probably goes to proove why he was so generous in his payments before, the rum clouds everything with these men. I glance aside to Bailey as he introduces himself.

Jack gave a slow acknowledging nod to Bailey but did not complete the handshake. "If you could forgive my rudeness, Bailey, my hands are a bit busy at the moment and I do not want to turn my back on this woman while her sword is still drawn. I'm sure you understand."
The pirate then gave Bailey the once over, taking in his cleanliness, lack of facial hair and clothing style, and shook his head. The man probably never held a sword in his life, let alone fight. "Then again, maybe you won't. Regardless, why am I making your acquaintance, exactly?"
