Jack smirked to himself as he pulled his small boat up to the dock at this small -- to him, nameless -- port. Sure, he didn't have his precious Black Pearl.. Or a crew.. Or a whelp he could trick into getting those things for him, but his luck was starting to look up. And that was a fact. You see after Barbossa left him stranded at Tortuga and took off with his ship (once again) Jack knew he would need some luck, which made him remember something Tia Dalma had told him about.. A lucky rabbits foot. But it wasn't like some little trinket you would by at some corner shop. This rabbits foot truly brought good luck. It was possessed by some witch back in the 1400's, according to our old friend Calypso. For years Jack tried to get this from her. He knew if he had it he would have gotten through all of his trials and tribulations much easier then he did.. Probably never would have ended up in the locker and there for wouldn't see four multiplications of himself every time he drank to much rum.
But of course Tia Dalma refused to give Jack Sparrow what he wished for. She said it was far to dangerous to let out of her little shack. How in the hell could something that brings such good luck be dangerous? Jack thought.. Besides.. A little danger never stopped him. He'd worry about those things when the time came. So instead of making his way straight for the fountain of youth, he decided to make a little pit stop.
Captain Sparrow rummaged through the shack until he found what he was looking for. The moment his fingers touched the rabbits foot he felt a 'change in the wind' as Mr. Gibbs would like to say.
From then on it was all smooth sailing. But he could only stay on this little dingy for so long before he decided to stop at this port and find himself a new vessel and perhaps a crew. With his good luck charm hanging on a chain around his neck, tucked safely in his shirt, Jack made his way down the docks in search of a new ship and some rum. Once Jack catches up to him, Barbossa wont know what hit him. Sure he might have Jacks magnificently fast ship but Jack has two things Barbossa doesn't. The map to the fountain of youth and a little bit of luck.

Jenna Black meandered along the dock with her thoughts a million miles away. Her parents had told her that she should start thinking about settling down soon. She was almost seventeen now. Jenna didn't think that was old at all, but her parents thought it was the proper age for marriage. That thought rather disgusted Jenna. She didn't see why in the world she would want to get married at such a young age and never get a chance to explore the world.
See, that's what Jenna wanted most. There was something inside of her that longed for adventure. She wanted to get away from her parents, the island they lived upon, and everything that made her life ordinary and dull. The last thing Jenna wanted was to be ordinary. She wanted excitement, an adventure, and something to do besides stitching things at home for mother.
As Jenna walked along, she kicked a pebble and thought for probably the millionth time whether or not she would able be able to escape her life and start a new one. She certainly needed luck right now. Only fate would tell whether or not she would get it.

Barbossa stood on the deck of the Black Pearl with his monkey, Jack on his shoulder. After marooning Jack Sparrow on Tortuga, he knew exactly what he'd be going after. The Fountain of Youth, one of the last things in this world that would make you live forever.
"Sparrow", Barbossa said to himself looking at the hole in the navigational charts.
He knew he should've kept the charts with him while Jack was still aboard the Pearl. No use in thinking of what he should've done. The Fountain was waiting for Barbossa and time was of the essense. Barbossa knew Jack would be coming after him with the navigational charts, for the Black Pearl and for the Fountain of Youth.

Jenna continued to amble down the dock. She loved hearing the crash of the oceans, seeing the bright blue ocean stretch out for miles all around her, and most of all, she loved it when a ship came by. Ships were fasinating to her. Ever since she was young, she had dreamed about sailing far away on a ship. Who knew what she would find out there? The world was so big and yet she was stuck on this pathetic little island because her parents wanted her to settle down and get married. It was silly really.
Jenna sat on the edge of the dock and looked out to the sea, hoping to see a ship within view. Her parents didn't like her hanging out by the dock, but Jenna didn't care. Truth be told, she had always wished she would run into a pirate ship. Her second cousin, Elizabeth Swann, had told her about some of her encounters with pirates. The two pirates that she talked about most were Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa.
Jenna knew she would probably never run into a pirate...but it could never hurt to wish to meet one, could it? Besides, there was always a chance she could run into one as long as she kept sitting on this little dock.

"Cap'n", Barbossa heard one of the crewmates come up to him. "We're runnin' low on water an' food."
Barbossa went to his cabin to look at the maps of the seas they were sailing on. There was an island not far from where they were.
"We'll stop fer supplies there", Barbossa pointed on the map.
He gave directions to the crew and walked out to the helm with an apple in his hand. The island grew closer and closer. The docks weren't crowded so it would be easy to make port. Barbossa looked down at the docks to see a young lass looking back at him.

As Jenna sat on the dock, she became bored and decided to take off her shoes and stockings so she could dangle her feet in the water. There was nothing better than the feel of cold, crystal clear water washing over your toes. Jenna slid forwards so that she was sitting on just the edge of the dock. She would really like to go for a swim. Unfortunately, she had never learned how to swim though and would probably end up drowning.
Suddenly, she looked up and saw something coming towards the dock. After a few moments of inspection, she realized it was a ship! It was not just any ship either. It was a very big ship. It seemed to dominate everything around it as it came directly towards her dock.
Jenna felt a flutter of fear and excitement as the ship grew closer to her. She couldn't help but wonder why such a beautiful ship was visiting her small island. As the boat came closer, she looked towards the deck of the boat to see a tall man with a feathered hat looking straight at her. Jenna's heart fluttered nervously and she almost lost her balance on the edge of the dock. Who were these people on the ship? And what were they doing here?

As soon as the Black Pearl docked, Barbossa walked down the ramp to the dock. He knew the young woman was still looking at him, but he ignored her.
"Stock up on food an' water!" he ordered the crew.
Barbossa walked into town. By the time he came back, the girl was still there. Barbossa had more important matters to worry about when he saw a dinghy sailing toward the island.
"Sparrow."

The large ship docked and several men spilled out of it and started off towards the town. Jenna watched the man with the monkey on his shoulder closely. She figured he must be the leader. Jenna locked eyes with him a few times, but he always looked away or looked down his nose at her.
Jenna felt an impulse to follow the crew into the town to see what they were up to, but she didn't want to look like she was stalking them. So instead, she waited on the dock.
About an hour later, Jenna still sat on the dock, waiting to see what would happen as the crew members spilled into the large ship once more with food and water.
Just as she was figuring that the ship would sail away and leave her here on this awful island, she say another little dinghy approaching the island. The standing inside of it looked much happier than the captain of the large ship. He had a big smile on his face and when he saw Jenna, he tossed his hat up into the air and gave a friendly wave.
Jenna held her breath as he approached the dock. Would he come talk to her?

Jack's luck was indeed looking up. His time spent in town was more then delightful. First, a merchant sailor Jack was walking behind dropped a small coin purse full of money. With the toe of his boot, Sparrow kicked it up into the air, caught it in his hand, threw it in his pocket and was on his way again as though nothing happened. Then at the pub he went to one of the drunks had just ordered a bottle of the best rum and passed out at his table before even taking a sip. Of course, Jack being the good samaritan that he is knew he couldn't allow that bottle to go to waste. After making his way through the pub a bit and talking to some strangers he met two barmaids practically throwing themselves at him.. Well.. I don't think we need to get into anymore details about what happened with those three in the room over the pub..
Yes, Jack Sparrow had a permanent smirk on his face. He had everything he needed.. Well.. Almost everything. He was short one thing.
However, when he made his way back toward the docks in search of a new ship, he seen something more then familiar. "I know those sails.." He muttered to himself before finishing the last of his rum. As he got closer more and more of his precious ship came into view. And as more came into view, the bigger his smirk got. He subconsciously touched the rabbits foot around his neck before hiding behind a building, looking for Barbossa."He's lookin' fer you mate.." Tinny little Jack number one came walking out on his shoulder. Jack just nodded. "Oh don' listen ta him. Ya got the foot.. What can Barbossa possibly do ta you?" Tinny little Jack number two said on the other shoulder. Jack just raised an eyebrow and looked at Jack number one.. "Just go over there.. Shoot 'im.. 'nd take yer ship back!!" Jack number one nodded in agreement. Jack rolled his eyes.. "As hansom as ye li'l devils are.. yer also quiet annoyin'.." He flicked them both off his shoulders and ignored the funny little screams the made.. They'd be just fine.. And unfortunately they'd probably back in a few hours or so. It had been like that ever since he escaped the locker.
Jack peaked back around his building and caught no sign of Barbossa.. Maybe he was on land..... Or maybe Jack just couldn't see him from were he was standing... Either way he casually began walking toward his ship, with a slight swagger in his step from the rum.

Jenna watched as the man from the dinghy stepped onto the dock and started towards the large ship. Jenna couldn't help but wonder what he was doing there. She thought maybe he knew the captain of the large ship, but she couldn't be sure.
Curiosity getting the better of her, she crept silently down the dock and followed the man to the ship. The man tilted his head back and looked up at the ship towering above him. He looked like he was looking for something.
In a quiet voice, Jenna tapped him on the shoulder and asked, "Are you looking for something or someone?"
