She shrugged a little, 'Thank you.'
Emma got into the car, knowing that if anything would happen she could defend herself to some degree. This odd feeling caused her to look him over, consider him carefully. She was still wary of him. It was hard not to be when people were unkind and her job put her in awkward positions with people.

Tom smiled a little, noticing her watching him carefully. "Um ... where to?" He laughed.

'I'm at that big house on Birch St,' she replied.
She leaned against the window, her eyes scanning the area for Mike or his friend. Although she was certain that she wouldn't find them here. Midday wasn't the time she'd find a creep like Mike...he was certainly piss drunk or sleeping off a hangover at this moment.

"Wow, nice," Hanson smirked as he started driving. He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, glancing at Emma every now and again. She wasnt exactly a good conversation maker, she was just staring out of the window. Tom reached out and turned the radio on, flicking through until he found some good old fashioned rock and roll.

'My father loved this song,' she murmured. 'He used to play this song to me when I was a kid.'
She looked to him before looking to the road as her foot tapped to the beat of the music. She wasn't much of a talker, never was. She locked most of the words deep inside and didn't want to speak of the past too much.

"I love this song too," Tom said. "I cant stand the rubbish they call music these days." He laughed a little. "I think I should've been born two decades earlier," He joked, trying to make conversation even though he knew it was pointless.

'You can listen to it on the radio or on old records,' she replied with a shrug. 'It doesn't really matter when you were born, you can always listen to music no matter when you want. Not all of the music is terrible...some songs are fairly good.'

Tom shrugged, getting a little frustrated at her need to contradict everything he said. "I suppose," He said. "But nothing can beat the classics. Nothing is original anymore, it's all just rehashes of the old stuff,"

She shrugged, 'I suppose. I always thought it was about expression.' Music was supposed to be her life...her father was an actor...he sang and now her mother was pushing her to sing, so she hated it now.

"It can be," Hanson said. "It used to be, now it's about money, and a lifestyle," He shrugged. "I play guitar to let out bottle up emotions, for me it's about expression, but I know a lot of people who dont think that," Tom said, thinking back to past cases.
