Syn clenched her teeth together, "I can't... with Jack?" She whimpered slightly, not knowing that Jack was the one that was going to deliver it, "Not Jack--" She filtered off as the pain came again.

"Syn." Jamie held onto her hands tightly, squeezing them. "You know we can't take you to a hospital. And I don't know how to deliver a baby ... Jack's the only one who can do it. He's trained Syn, it'll be fine, just pretend it's not him," He scooped her up into his arms with a grunt, it taking a lot more effort now she was twice her usual weight.

Syn didn't argue anymore, having a harder time just breathing right. She continued to clench her teeth at the same time she wrapped her arms around his neck, her cheeks already flushed with heated color again.

Jamie carried her back to the house, kicking the front door open and carrying her upstairs. He put her down on the bed. "Just ... keep breathing," He told her, repeating what he heard people say on tv. "Deep breaths,"
He left her there for a moment, going out into the hallway. "JACK!" He yelled, not knowing where he'd gone.
"Shh, don't shout so much," Jack told him, coming out of the nursery opposite. "I just put Lili down for her nap. What is it?"
"Syn ... she's gone into labour," Jamie told him, shoving Jack into the room.

Syn tried to follow Jamie's directions, breathing in hisses in and out through her clenched teeth. She grabbed the sheet below her, clenching it tightly as another contraction started.

Jack knelt down by Syn's feet. "Alright, Syn, just stay calm, and keep breathing," Jack told her gently. He reached up and parted her legs. "Have you only just started getting the contractions?"

(Alrighty then ...  ) Jamie knelt by the side of the bed, holding Syn's hand tightly. Jack lifted up the little baby, cleaned it off and wrapped it in a towel. "It's a boy," He said gently, passing him to Syn. |

Syn was still breathing heavily, but as she saw the little boy that Jack handed to her, she softened for the first time in forever.
"Oh look..." She breathed out softly as she looked down at him.

Jamie stood up and perched on the edge of the bed. He reached down and pushed the towel away so he could get a better look at his face.
"I'm looking," He mumbled softly and kissed the top of her head.
