Alex slammed her hand against the dashboard quite suddenly in her rage of someone taking Jayden.

It took hours. It was early morning and Thomas never thought the words would come over his lips, but they did;
"Let's turn back and call the cops. I'm gonna lose it really soon and I can't find..--- I can't fucking find her!!"
He hit his hand on the wheel, then closed his eyes tightly and swallowed to keep calm. He was on his wits end and he was dead-tired and that combined with driving a car could only lead to bad things

Alex whimpered a little bit, but she sat quietly until they made it back to the house and then she got out quickly, half wondering if maybe Jadyn would be returned to them inside-- she wasn't.

He was almost exploding with anger and worry, but managed to keep calm as he called the cops as soon as he got inside, looking at Alex wandering around and looking in every room for their daughter

Alex finally sat down on the edge of the couch and put her head in her hands, crying miserably as she listened to Thomas on the phone with the cops.
