As if he hit an unbreakable wall, Logan's fist remained frozen in the air. Logan tried to move his hand, tried to move at all. His muscles bulged with effort, but no matter what he did, he couldn't budge. A frown came to his face, a low growl sounding from his troat. He didn't know how Magneto did it - he didn't have the mutant power to freeze people. But no matter how, when Magneto spoke, Logan gritted his teeth, the glint in his eyes turning from angry to murderous. "Name's Logan, bub." He spoke with a growl, "And you better let go, you piece of shit."

Magneto raised an eyebrow. Being talked to like that was really a way to convince him to let Wolverine go. "You're even dumber human," He commented. He flicked his wrist and sent Logan crashing through the tenth floor window, then as Logan requested, let him go mid air.

One second Logan had been standing in Magneto's office, the next he made the 150 feet drop to the streets below. They say that when you fall to your death, your life flashes by your eyes. That's a lie. The realization that he was gonna crash into the asphalt below and he'd never see Mystique, Aurora or Luce again was all that flashed by. That, and office windows. Before he hit the ground, Logan squeezed his eyes shut tightly, bracing himself for the crash.
When he reached the ground, it made the street shake noticably. But 'stead of winding up like a bug on a windshield, Logan's body caused an impact crater - denting the asphalt a good few inches. The pain that shot through his body was excruciating though, he tasted blood in his mouth, and a fraction of a second after he landed his eyes rolled back and the world went black.

Mystique had been crouched by the side of the stroller, fixing Aurora's little hat back on her head to make sure she didn't catch a cold, when Logan's body crashed just feet in front of them. Mystique screamed, which made Aurora start crying. She took the baby from the stroller and held her to her chest, shielding Aurora's eyes from the site. With her heart tightly clenched in her chest, the whole world swimming around her, Mystique hesitantly took a step towards Logan's fallen body. She knelt down next to his body, squeezed her eyes shut to stop tears from flowing, clenched her teeth and placed a hand on his chest.
"Oh thank god!" She let out a gasp of relief when she felt the steady thu-thump of his heart. She didn't stop to wonder how the hell he'd survived the fall. "You're gonna be okay, baby," She promised in a mumble, pushing herself to her feet and jogging across to the payphone. She rummaged through her purse and found a coin, then rang the mansion for help. Hospitals wouldn't see humans, but at the house there was a nurse and a lab assistant, put them together and Logan stood a pretty good chance of surviving.

Anna was the one who heard the phone ring. She walked over to it, looking around herself hesitantly. The phone was barely ever used and she had no idea who this could be. Eventually she shrugged her shoulders and answered. "Hello?"
Meanwhile, on the street where Logan crashed, people (mutants) were gathering around, frowning and pointing at the scene, mumbling amongst themselves. Nobody stepped forward to help the paniced woman in the phonebooth though. Or the unconcious man, who had blood trickling out of his nose and mouth. Both of them looked human, after all.

"Anna!" Mystique spoke quickly, panicked. "I need help. Logan's dying, I need ... I need to get him back to the house, I can't move him on my own. Oh God! He's dying. Please hurry! We're outside the Lensherr building," She rambled before hanging up, scared that of leaving Logan alone for too long, scared of him dying alone.
She jogged back to where he landed and shrugged off her jacket, folding it and putting it under his head. She took his hand, bringing it up to her lips, watching the blood slowly trickle down his face.

It took Anna almost a full minute to realize who had been shouting down the phone in a panic. She hardly knew Logan and Mystique. Nonetheless, she threw down the phone as soon as the connection broke, and ran upstairs to find help. She found Henry McCoy and Piotr Rasputin in the kitchen. "Guys, I think something happened.." She said. She hurried to repeat what Mystique had told her. Fortunately, Anna was one of the very few in the mansion who owned a car (or actually, her employer did). Together with the other two, she hurried down the lawn to the white van with the logo of the United States Postal Service on the side.

Mystique didn't move from Logan's side, didn't blink, she wasn't even sure how she was remembering to breath. One hand tightly clenching Logan's, the other holding Aurora to her like her life depended on it. She didn't know how much time had passed when the white van pulled up along side them, and the three hopped out. She only registered their presence when she felt Piotr's hand on her shoulder.
"What happened?" He asked quietly, one glance at Logan and he wasn't even sure the guy was alive. It wasn't until he got closer he was breathing shallowly.
Mystique took a step back, letting Hank and Peter lift Logan between them. "... I don't know, he went upstairs to shout at Magneto, and must've ...been pushed through the window,"
The ride back to the mansion was a short one, but every moment ticked by painfully slow for Mystique. The moment they pulled up the drive, Mystique passed Aurora to Marie and followed Pete and Hank as they carried Logan through to put him on the sofa. Mystique sat on the sofa with Logan's head in her lap, holding a cold damp cloth to his forehead. Hank moved his hands over Logan's body, inspecting him. "I ... can't feel any broken bones, I'll go get Jean," He said before scurrying off, doubting his own medical capabilities. The guy fell ten floors down, he had to have broken some bones, Hank obviously wasn't checking the right ones.

Jack went downstairs and saw Logan on the sofa. "Is everyone all right?" Not knowing Mystique or Logan, it was a weird question, but as a neighbor it was good to ask.

Mystique gritted her teeth at the stupid question, her nerves already on edge and it made her liable to snap. "Does he fucking look alright?"
