Mystique moaned when he bit her skin, hips lifting off the mattress in response. Her hands moved down his bare back, fingers following the shape of his muscles until she reached his boxers, which soon after landed on the floor. Her hand moved up to his hand and pulled his lips back to hers as their passion grew, more than making up for the previous lost night.

Later, when it was more afternoon than morning, they laid next to eachother breathlessly, Logan's arms wrapped around Mystique as he listened to their heartbeats pounding in sync.
The only reason Kaede hadn't demanded their attention in that time, was because Anna was sitting in the kitchen downstairs with the little baby in her arms. Since Mystique and Logan hadn't showed up before Alfie and her had gone to sleep last night, she'd kept the baby monitor on her own nightstand. She didn't dare to return it that morning either, so now she found herself still babysitting, trying to make Kaede eat the bottle of milk she'd found in the fridge.

Mystique traced her fingers across his draw, bringing his lips close enough to brush a lazy kiss on his lips. "You want second breakfast?" She asked in a mumble, fingers playing with his beard.

"The edible kind, or the kind we had just now?" Logan replied with the hint of a smirk, whilst lazily nuzzling her neck, tickling her skin with his beard.

Mystique smirked, biting his lower lip lightly. "The edible kind," she told him.

"Sure," Logan stole a last, breathtaking kiss from her lips, not moving or letting her move just yet.

Mystique grinned and kissed him again when he moved to pull back. She reached down to his hands, took hold of his thumbs and pulled his hands away. "I'll be right back," She promised, brushing one last kiss on his nose before rolling out of bed. She threw on her robe and headed down the hallway.
Before she went downstairs to get food, Mystique walked across to Kaede's room to check on the baby, and moments after she left her own bedroom, the door flung open again, banging back against the wall. "Kaede's gone. She's ... she's not in her room." She blurted out to Logan, eyes wide and panicked.

Logan's gaze darted over to Mystique, a frown instantly on his face, his gut twisting with that old familiar feeling of dread. He rolled out of the bed, threw on his boxers, and was by Mystique's side a fraction of a second later. He had to force himself to pause there. To listen to something other than their racing hearts. To smell the air. After what seemed like forever, he found it there: that scent of baby lotion and spit-bubbles that was Kaede. He took a firm hold of Mystique's hand and pulled her along into the hallway, following the scent as they hurried down the stairs together.

Mystique followed him down the stairs to the kitchen, where her gaze immediately found Anna and the familiar bundle of blankets that was their baby girl. "Oh thank God," Mystique let out the breath she'd been holding, pulled her hand from Logan's and ran across the kitchen, taking Kaede from Anna's arms without another word. She pushed the blankets back to get a good look at her daughter's face. Kaede laughed, and reached a hand out, trying to grab Mystique's nose. Mystique grinned, and hugged Kaede tightly to her chest.

Anna stared at them in confusion when Mystique ran over and pulled baby Kaede from her arms like she was on fire. "What's going on?" She asked, confusion thick in her voice.
"You scared the hell outta us," Logan replied, while he joined Mystique's side and took a hold of Kaede's tiny hand when she tried to grab Mystique's nose.
Anna blinked in disbelief, "I scared you?"
