As I reach the Pearl I put my hands on my hips and stare up to the helm from my place on the docks, squinting in the sunlight. I ignore the presense of Rae and her daughter aboard the ship, as if I hadn't at all seen them.

I become aware of Cassandra's presence before I even see her. I half-turn around, to look over my shoulder to spot her on the docks. I dismiss the crewmember I was talking to and raise an eyebrow, then swagger over to the gangplank. I lean casually against the ship's railing as I regard her. "You're awfully close to my ship." I tell Cassandra drily, waving my hands at her dismissively, like I'd 'shoo' away a cat.

"Your floating piece of plank wood is awfully close to me." I shrug, "Ye better come down here to get us both at a better distance."

"And why would I do that? I believe you shared your precious gem of information with me yesterday. That was quite enough of your company to last me another year, luv." I tell her, giving her a goldtoothed smile.

"Well, you happen to be forgetting that you owe me quite a great deal. And whether you settle it with me now or leave it to linger is your problem, but I think you'd rather listen to me now and get this out of the way rather than allowing me to irritate you for the next few years. Get yerself down here." I tell him.

"Darling, you've irritated me for decades, I believe I'm used to it by now." I slur at her, not specifically impressed with her reasoning. However, I do vaguely remember something Rae had said last night. Something about setting yourself up for misery. With that notion nagging at me, I finally shrug in defeat, climb onto the gangplank, and join Cassandra at the docks. "So talk, woman," I tell her, leading her further away from my precious ship.

"There are certain things past and present that I'm aware concern me more than you, but I think anyone would at least acknowledge the fact I'm owed some sort of compensation." I ramble, deciding not to be straight forward this these matters, getting into that would create too much detail in what had conspired all those years ago. "And you'll remember that last time I assisted you with a map you gained more than plenty in riches at the end of it. You may mock me but you can't mock the fact I'm pretty much the best cartographer around this bloody town and so I have a route for you. One without any curses attached, I promise." I add with a smirk, "But the catch is that you give me a good percentage of the bounty in exchange for all the god forsaken history that has been added to the past load. Plus that child needs an extra eye kept on her if you're going to be screwing her mother the entire voyage."

"All things considered, I believe some things are better left in the past," I reply drily, my gaze wavering towards my ship for a split second. "Define 'good percentage', luv, and I'll have a look at that map you're rambling about."

"Forty percent." I smirk, handing him the fraction of the map I have, "There's only part of it there, I lost the other, but I know the route." I declare, "And I have no interest in bringing up the past, it can stay where it is. I just want a little more to cover myself with now that I'm spoilt goods."

I don't comment on her choice of words. Instead I unfold the map, looking at the coordinates curiously. Another set of vices that tend to get me into trouble is pretty obviously - greed, an unreasonable hunger for adventure, and curiosity. I find it nigh impossible to pass up on a quest when one is thrown at me. Even by Cassandra.
