I frown heavily over to Jack and then look back to the mother and daughter, "As much as I'm enjoying yer company I think ye better leave, I was in the midst of a discussion with this man and ye seem to be stealing me precious time."

My gaze darts over to Cassandra, and I give her a generous grin. "I think you told me all ye needed to say, luv. You can be on your way now," I gesture her to shoo, completely undermining her words.

I stamp on his foot under the table, "I will stay as long as I please."

Rae:
"I don't entirely think your existence as a succubus pleases anyone but yourself," I say shrewdly, looking her in the eye. "The former being the sort of statement you love to chew over in your rotten little mind, I think you should be pleased enough with it to leave us now."

"I very much dislike this man, but I also very much dislike you." I tell her, "So will not be defending him, but his bloody ship, and his bloody child, against the likes of you getting your little way."

"I frankly don't care what you will or will not be doing; for the last bloody time, woman, this is none of your business. It has naught to do with you or any decisions you're entitled to make. As you've so daringly said, sleeping with the captain is not a position. Therefore it entitles you no opinion in this matter whatsoever."

I watched the women discuss matters some further, eyes flicking from left to right to regard whoever spoke at the particular moment. "Well, this is all very interesting." I conclude drily, "I think it's fair to conclude that neither of you has a say in what happens on my ship, so it's certainly not worth your time to discuss whose argument is the better."

I exhale deeply, staring back to him now, "I'm bored of you already." I decide, getting up, "Whatever decision you choose it'll be the wrong one." I inform him, helpfully, before I begin to leave. I don't feel defeated, though, because this is in no way the end of our encounter, I just need new ways to gain his interest.

When she's gone, Cora sits there in the silence for some time and then says, "I think Mum is trying to say that it's your decision."

"Nothing goes unnoticed to your eye, does it?" I conclude drily in the direction of the girl. My gaze is on Rae though, investigating, analysing.. contemplating. Do I owe her? Is this for the better? Would the girl even survive on a pirate ship? Do I even want 'r there? She's my daughter, for gods sake, which seems plenty of reason to steer clear from her altogether.
But that answer of hers lingers in my mind. Freedom.
The real question is, can I refuse such a request? I narrow my eyes, realizing that Cassandra is right for a change. No matter what I decide, it's going to be the wrong decision.
"You realize you'd hafta work. Both of you. No favours." I state, setting out some simple conditions. If they can't be met, Rae and .. Cora .. can bugger off and go on their merry way.
