"You think I'd let that happen?" Mystique smirked slightly, while Alfie trailed behind them.

"Only in my worst nightmares," Logan told her, while they entered the hallway where Lucy and Kaede were. Charlie, Lucy's dog, was bouncing around the girls hyperactively, while Lucy told Kaede proudly how old he was and how he always slept at the footend of her bed.

Charlie sniffed Kaede's feet and his nose moved up her body. He jumped back and let out a happy bark, before he jumped closer again and started licking her face, obviously recognising the scent of his master's baby sister after two years of her being missing.
Mystique smiled, slipped an arm around Logan's waist and leaned against him. "Satisfied?" She smirked slightly, since the girls were perfectly alright.

Kaede giggled, pushing Charlie off. "Ewww, drool." She wiped her cheek, pulling a face of disgust.
Logan smirked, "Yep. Good enough,"

Charlie barked and bounced back to Lucy, barking excitedly as he jumped around the two girls.
Mystique smiled and took Logan's hand, as they walked back down the hall towards the garage.

Kaede watched them for a second, before she ran after them, and tugged her dad's hand. "Where are you going?"
"Just gotta check something out for a minute," Logan said, really not giving her any sort of answer at all. He didn't want her to know, or to be there, to hear that the route to the other universe might or might not be re-opened. "Don't worry," He told Kaede, "You'll be fine here, if ya need anything ask Luce. If you need me, ask anyone, they'll call."
Kaede nodded slowly, a little worried still, but she tried to be brave. "Okay."

Mystique gave Kaede a reassuring smile even though she knew it wouldn't be as reassuring at once had been. "Luce, be nice," She told their other daughter, "Look after Kaede."

"I don't need to be looked after," Kaede muttered, ignoring the fact that she'd been scared ever since they arrived here. She didn't want anyone to think she was chicken.
Logan smirked, putting an arm around Mystique's shoulders again, and continuing their way to the garage.

"She's so much like you," Mystique said quietly as they walked away, so Kaede wouldn't hear. "It's kinda freaky just how much like you she is,"

"Ya got no idea how much she resembles you, too." Logan told 'r, "Specially when she doesn't get 'r way. Six years apart, and she still managed that exact same 'what the fuck are you tripping on' look as you get, when she thinks I'm being unfair." Logan smirked.
