Tom observed her reaction carefully. He figured if he confronted her with it, maybe her response would tell him something. He could tell that she was taken aback by his observation, but that was about it. A bit elite didn't cut it, he thought. But he shrugged, figuring that pressing the matter wouldn't work. "Yeah we'll see. I can bare with your company until then." He winked jokingly, to lighten the mood.

"..yeah..let's hope so" she mumbled, a bit lost in thoughts now. His reaction Had scared her, she just didn't want anyone to see. Now she had to figure out what to do. Let him be? Or follow her own mind and continue to be friends with him. He was suspicious, he wanted to make friends, so why would she stop that now? On the other hand.. why would he notice this on the second day? And tell her...what did he want to know ? Luckily he hadn't asked any questions about why everyone was so reserved.. "I have to go to class" she mumbled, not sure whether she wanted his company still. She was a little freaked out at the moment, knowing that her butt on the line too..

Tom cursed mentally, when he noticed how his question had thrown her off. She was obviously nervous now, and took a certain distance. So, okay, he knew now that something was seriously behind this code of silence amongst these kids. But he didn't know what, and he was only undermining himself if he chased Roxy away too with a simple question. This case was going to be impossisble if nobody talked to him. Was she suspicious of his intentions? And if so.. why would she care, unless she was guilty of something? But that thought was sort of stupid, since that could be said of every kid in this highschool.
He considered what to do. The only thing he could think of was make sure that he wasn't too suspicious, after all, so he couldn't be too greedy for information. No more risky questions for today. And he somehow had to reassure Roxy he wasn't fishing for information.
"Hey, I'm not blaming you." He smirked, acting as if the only reason he worried about the people ignoring him was his lack of social life in this school. "Whatever, let's go to class." He picked up his bag and walked with her to the classroom.

"Right" Roxy remained silent. She was indeed thrown off, she thought she could avoid the whole idiocy behaviour of her schoolmates by becoming Tom's friend, but she was wrong. The rest of the school needed to act normally too, that was the only way she could help her other friends.. and her father and herself. She did not want anyone to go to jail for a couple of packages they had send off. That a kid like Christian was stupid enough to OD was his fault, not anyone elses.
Roxy did not know that the drugs sold had been bad drugs, her father told her that the kid OD'ed and that he'd look into the stuff because people were spreading roomers that it had been bad snow. He told her the stuff was 100%pure, and she believed her father. She had no choice. The truth was that no kid could afford 100% pure stuff, and therefore it was indeed bad blow.. But Roxy knew as little about drugs as she could or wanted to know. She brought a package to school and that was it, her hands were clean and so was her nose. They went in and Roxy sat behind Tom. This time she did not keep her mouth shut though.. "Could I perhaps look through your notes after class?" she asked Tom, making sure others would see her comunicating with him. Tom seemed like the type of guy that did not keep quiet for anyone, so should the police question them all again one day in the future, he'd tell them about the sect/elite odd club.. he didn't have to lie to the cops because he knew nothing and had no secrets. They had to keep him as a friend, and that was up to her. That became even more important than getting his attention and making him feel attracked to her.

He turned to look over to her, and nodded. "Sure." He said, though he couldn't figure her out anymore now. She was chatting with him one second, then she was quiet the next, and then attempting contact again the third. He turned back to follow the class (well, not really). His thoughts kept grinding over what his next step should be though. He had to focuss on the case.

The next class was biography, the perfect oppertunity for Roxy to 'compare her notes'. It was a foolish excuse, since all her notes were usually perfect. She wanted to go to harvard so she was a real do-good girl in class. "Here, give me your notes" she said, holding out her hand to Tom, looking at him in the meantime.
Jacob stared at Roxy and Tom from the back of the class. He was observing them constantly, cursing the fact that Roxy was so blindsided by that guy's pretty face or whatever.

Tom shuffled his papers together and handed his notes over. He usually didn't bother with taking good notes (it's not like he was going to take any exams), but since she'd asked this time and was gonna look at them, he'd put some effort in it. He had to avoid looking suspicious in any way possible. "If anything's lacking in mine, feel free to add yours to them too." He smirked at Roxy.
Meanwhile, their biology teacher spoke up again. "Everyone, can I have your attention for a moment. For the next few weeks we're going to work on projects. I've got a number of options printed on a list for you, you can chose what you want to work on. You work together with your neighbour, so this week you should discuss what topic you want to chose.. and you let me know next week. Any questions?" He walked through the class, handing out the list.

Unwilling, Roxy's heart skipped a beat as she heard mr. Jeremy's announcement. They would have to do a project together, she would have to do a project together with Tom.. She forget her reason to mingle with him instantly and realised that she had even more reason to hang out with the guy she had a crush on.. "wokay, I wouldn't worry about me shutting you out, looks like you're stuck with me" Roxy giggled and handed Tom's notes back, eye-ing him for a second but then looking away, her thoughts were catchin up with her and she blushed, hoping he wouldn't notice how happy she was that she'd have a reason to see Tom perhaps even outside school... After all, Mr. Jeremy's projects were usually intense.

Tom smirked, putting his notes back in his book. "That's a relief." He grinned slightly at her, glad she was being more easygoing and talkative again. Tom was actually quite happy about this project, too. It would give him more reason to talk to her a lot - and get some questions asked that he couldn't ask already. They got the list with possible projects on their desk, and Tom slid the paper closer to them, in the middle of the desk, so they both could read it. "You chose, I really don't mind." He shrugged.
He kept in the back of his mind that this was for her exam, after all. Not his.

"Sure, turn me into the leader" she smirked and read the subjects. She was glad that he let her choose, after all, she could use this for Harvard as well, and with a subject less to her choice it could get difficult to work it out perfectly. "Oh.. I like this one..." She said, actually sounding quite excited about a topic "Is audio or visual information better remembered', we could do some really cool tests with that, and it would be fun too" She pointed at the subject and raised her hand to tell mr. Jeremy they had already found a topic "You like that one too?'
