Tom shrugged, "Okay. Coffee sounds like a plan." For once he was glad about Doug's reluctance to really follow the rules closely. For one thing, he craved for some coffee. And secondly, it seemed to get them in good favors with these girls - girls who knew the kid which was murdered. The four of them left the streetcorner, walking over to a cheap-looking coffeeshop a few blocks down. "So how about those other kids?" Tom asked, glancing sideways at Stacy, "Are they friends of yours?"

As Doug ordered two big cups of regular coffee Stacy sat down next to Tom, she took her wooly(?) hat off but kept her big coat and gloves on. "Sera is my only real friend here, the rest are more like.. acquaintances, we know them, see em quite often and we can get along but its not like we depend on each other or hang around 24/7. Some of them can become quite annoying after a while really.." she explained. Before she knew it she had answered the question quite elaborately..
Doug came back with the coffee "there ya go, one for the two of you" he said while handing the cup to Tom "and one for us" he handed the other to Sera.
Stacy closed her eyes for a second, inhailing the smell of the hot coffee "Christian was our friend though.. not anymore.. I can't believe he left the group.. he was a good guy"

"Thanks." Sera put her hands around the cup, using the oppertunity to warm up a little.
"Yeah, I heard he was." Tom agreed, his gaze settled on Stacy. "So like.. do you guys stick together more now though? With the stuff that's going on?" It would seem like a smart thing to do - but he wasn't sure whether these girls had even thought about it like that. He wanted to make sure.

Doug took the cup from Sera and sipped from it. Stacy took her gloves off and took the cup from Tom, whether he was finished or not She warmed her hands a little while taking small sips. "yknow, I thought they just died.. not like.. murdered" She says "But now .. I'm not going anywhere alone if this means theres a killer or something out there" She glanced at Sera, wondering if she thought the same thing.

"Totally." Sera agreed, her gaze going over to her friend. "Chris was alone when it happened. I don't wanna risk the same thing."
Tom nodded, pretty pleased with the answer. What the girls didn't know was that *all* the murders were comitted on people who had been alone at the time. At least according to the investigations. So he was glad to hear that Sera and Stacy at least wanted to stick together. Meanwhile, he didn't take the coffeecup back from Stacy again - figuring she needed it one hell of a lot more than he did.

"How long have you guys been on the street? we've been to the east side some times, never saw ya'll there.. "
"I've been on the street for a year now" Doug answered, he figured it would make sense for not having been around the east side for too long..
"you ?" she asked Tom.

"Couple of months. A li'll over half a year I suppose." Tom shrugged. He went along with Dougs technique; claiming they hadn't been out here long. That would allow them to explain a number of things. Why nobody's seen them before, but also maybe what they didn't know about living on the streets as well as others if they ever encountered something.
Sera nodded, figuring this explained why these guys had seemed out of place just a little bit to her. "I've been here for two years now." She shared.
"How about you?" Tom looked over to Stacy.

"Two and a half years now" Stacy answered. She stared at the coffee cup, her mind a little absend. She had been living like this for too long, due to a complete jerk, but she didn't tell why she was on the street, not even Sera knew.. "Best choice I ever made" she mumbled, not really sounding too happy about it. She shoved the plastic cup back to Tom "sorry, better drink some before I empty it" she smirked.
Doug examined Stacy and Sera, they seemed young, not a day older than fifteen, how could a thirteen year old survive on the street, he wondered, and why ?

"Yknow what, you have it." Tom shrugged, "I had some change before so I had some coffee earlier." He wondered what Stacy's story was. Cos if it's true what she said, she chose for this life. Why would she do that? What could possibly so bad at such an age - so bad that it made you chose for a life like this? He wasn't sure whether to ask though.

Doug had already wondered the same thing and bluntly asked the one thing noone really asked to anyone on the street. "So.. why did you chose this life? what are your reasons?"
Stacy quickly took the coffee back from Tom, if she could have it all she would not say no to it. "none of your business, first rule you should have learned by now" She muttered "Don't ask about anyone's reasons, just cause we're all streetrats doesn't mean we will tell everyone openly 'bout our pasts, tss, can you believe this guy Sera?"
