"Not as foolish as walking into this school looking for trouble, mister Carter." Storm's voice dropped several degrees at his obnoxious attitude. "Besides, we have no reason to be hiding. We have our rights, as does any citizin of the United States of America."
"The one and only." He shook her hand firmly, before leaning back in his chair and taking a swig. "So what brought ya here?" He asked, eyeing her up and down.

Gavin laughed, "You don't think one of these days humans are just going to accidently drop some bombs on you as they pass by over head." He wet his lips, "We're freaks to them. No better than a pack of circus freaks, I tell ya."
"What else?" Taryn asked him shortly, "Dangerous world out there for us that aren't... normal." She half smiled and took a swig of her own beer, quite used to the taste this day and age.

"That merely makes it our responsibility to educate them more about who we mutants really are." Storm cut him off. "I thought the X-men already made themselves really clear that we're not interested in enslaving the human race in Magneto's days, mister Carter, don't waste your breath on your propaganda here."
Logan had known she was a mutant the moment she walked into this place. That was just something he could sense on a person at times. Now that she brought it up herself his suspicion was confirmed though. "Right." He agreed to her words, "So what do you do?" He quirked an eyebrow curiously.

Gavin chuckled under his breath, "Oh, I almost forgot who I was talking to. X-Men, the traitors of our race." He crossed his arms and sat back in the chair, somewhat glaring at her. The meeting wasn't going well yet.
"Me?" Taryn smirked, "Nothing too exciting." She shrugged and didn't tell him directly out of force of habit, "Just know I'm good to have around in a fight, for a couple reasons."

Storm surpressed the urge to roll her eyes, or worse, hit him with a locally-generated thunderbolt. Instead she tried to steer the conversation to a more useful path. "Humanity isn't the main concern of either of us at the moment though, now is it?" She pointed out tactfully. "Or you wouldn't be here."
"That's a pretty detailed resume you got there." Logan smirked, amused by the fact that she wouldn't tell anything about herself. Not like he would've, if people didn't know 'bout him. So she got a point, anyway.

"I wouldn't be sitting and talking her, you're right." Havok gave a slight nod to her, "Humanity seems to have taken a backseat on this ride." He leaned her head to the side, cracking his neck that way and then the other way. "What are these things... these new things that showed up. I assume you have some information since you're the one that called this little meeting."
Taryn laughed softly and took another drink of her beer, "About as detailed as it's going to get for a while." She glanced around her and changed subjects smoothly, "So, this is the school I always refused to come to.... doesn't seem so bad as it did back then."

"Not as much as I had hoped." Storm took a seat, reluctantly chosing the chair on the opposite side of the desk, but she was in no mood to argue now. There were more important matters at hand. "This new species seem to have come out of nowhere. As I'm sure you know, there's been several incidents where they attacked either human or mutant. The most recent accident happened just last week in New York. Some of these beings created a sort of electrical field, electrocuting sixteen civilians, harming many more." She kept her eyes on Havok, watching if he paid attention. "The papers call them 'super-mutants', but unlike mutants they don't seem to have evolved slowly. Instead, all of the sudden they're here, and nobody knows where they come from. We have a few biologists in this school, but none of them could explain such a sudden rise of something new. They think they've been around much longer."
Logan kept his eyes on Taryn, observing her as she took a drink and looked around. He half wondered what her story was, but he wasn't exactly the kind of guy who'd start poking around in other people's business. The only thing he was really interested about were her intentions for coming here. Good or bad. That sorta thing. He took a long drink from his beer before his eyes set on Taryn's again. "What seemed so bad 'bout it?" Throughout the conversation he'd been the one asking questions, usually short and to the point - but the girl didn't seem to mind anyway.

Instead of going to one of the classes, Kitty decides to follow Logan. The entire time while he and Taryn had been talking, she had used one of her powers to listen to their conversation: she was standing in the wall. After a while she was pretty sure that Logan would sense her, so she changed her position to another wall eventhough she was not sure if that would help that much. She wasn't sure what to think of the woman who had just walked into the house and was now sitting there, sipping her beer.

Havok leaned back in his seat and put up his feet, "But if they're attacking humans, what should I care?" He smirked a bit, "The less humans, the better the chances for us to excel to the top race. Why not let these... super mutants, as you called them, kill off the humans and then we take our pickings from there?" He knew the idea was sadonic and she would never go for it, but it was more or less what the Brotherhood was all about.
Taryn smirked a little bit, looking down from the ceiling and towards Logan, "Bad? Well, scary, more than bad. I had enough kids making fun of me, I didn't need mutants doing the same thing." She realized that probably made no sense to him, "You see, my powers aren't like yours. They aren't 'cool' or 'flashy'. I can't kill someone any faster than a human being can and defense it not my best skill either--"

Storm resisted the urge to preach a peaceful coexistance between human and mutant to Havok, knowing very well that her words and logic would be useless on this hard-headed Magneto-wannabe. Instead, she aimed for striking a chord differently. "It's not just humans they're after, mister Carter. In fact, the mutant community has lost over 50 members in these attacks. These super-mutants aren't after a friendly relationship with us either. Since we're weaker than them, we are also apparently unworthy." She smiled slightly, "Funny coincidence isn't it? Sounds like it could've come from your mouth instead."
Logan smirked at her explanation. "Flashy or not, trust me on one thing, darling. We've got some pretty fucking weird-ass powers in this school. I doubt you could shock the place." Logan then suddenly stopped talking, his eyes diverting to the left. The air had shifted, carrying a scent - a familiar one. He listened but heard nothing. "Talking of weird-ass powers." He mumbled under his breath, his eyes moving over the wall. He sniffed the air, figured out Kitty's whereabous, and spoke up. "You know, you shouldn't have moved. Come out, Kitty-cat."
