Astoria jumped when Jack called to her. She looked around and noticed that the crew was working again and she wasn't. She must have lost track of time standing there. Looking around for a quick excuse she almost smiled to herself when she found it. "White sails cap'n. . . There." She pointed in the direction of the navy ship. That'll win me some brownie points with the cap'n. she thought.

Jack looked at where the boy was pointing.
"Bugger", he mumbled. "All hands on deck! Make ready the guns!"
He pulled the boy back towards him when he went to follow orders.
"Don't think this means yer off the hook", Jack whispered. "I want ta see ya in my quarters...if ya live."

Astoria opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Finally she mumbled "Aye cap'n" Before running below deck to help load the cannons. . . She had no idea what she was doing however. She dropped a cannon on her toe and and the pirate next to her began laughing uncontrollably. "We aint got time fer this.. Their 'bout to board the Pearl. Go make yerself useful else where." Great She thought, Now what do I do. But then she heard the ringing of swords. She may not be able to load a cannon or. . Any of the other piraty things she should be doing, but if there was one thing she knew how to do, it was fight. She grabbed a sword from a pirate that had two and ran up on deck, ready to fight.

Jack was up on deck fighting a soldier when he saw the boy coming with a sword.
"Ya can handle a sword?" Jack asked.
When the boy went to answer him, a neaby soldier shot his hat off. That's when Jack noticed the boy reminded him of someone. He just couldn't put his finger on it.

Astoria ducked just in time to miss the bullet. "I liked the hat" She yelled at the solider before running at him with the sword. It was a good thing her mother never paid much attention to her when she brought home pirates. She always took a fighting lesson from her mothers pirate friends since she was little. The fight lasted only a few minutes before Astoria sunk her sword in the mans heart and went onto the next sailor - Another simple fight. When pirates learn how to fight, they learn how to fight dirty, which was way they always seemed to win. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Jack fighting a solider, just as another came up behind him with a pistol aimed at Jacks head. Astoria ran over, shoving the soldier Jack was currently fighting with out of her way. She swung her sword over her head and sliced the mans throat just as he pulled the trigger and suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder.

Jack looked at the boy surprised. No one has ever taken a bullet for him. He pulled the boy back behind him and continued fighting.
Timeskip
Jack watched as the navy ship sank. Half of the crew threw the dead soldiers overboard. The other half gathered the dead crew members. Jack turned to the boy who was trying to stop the bleeding.
"Ya want me take care o' that?" he asked. "I still want ta talk to ya."

ooc; I have to get off for now, but if your going to be on tonight, I'll be back in about four or five hours. Astoria has ripped the sleeve right off of her shirt so she wouldn't have to take it off and expose herself as a woman. She sat there with a rag on her wound, trying to stop the blood. Nodding at Jacks question, she got up and followed him to his quarters. It was a bit weird being in there now as a boy, when last night she was in his bed as a woman.

ooc: ok. see you tonight bic: Jack noticed the boy looked uncomfortable in his cabin. He didn't know why. No crew member was ever scared of it. Everyone has been in his cabing at one time or another. "Why did ya save me from that soldier?" Jack asked. "Out here it's e'ery man for himself." When the boy tore off his sleeve, Jack looked at him confused. "Why did ya do that?" he asked. "Ya could just take it off, that way ya wouldn't ruin a perfectly good shirt." He went to help the boy unbutton his shirt.

She shrugged "Guess I'm more kind hearted then most sailors ye know. " She looked at her torn shirt and let out a small laugh. "Well from the bullet hole and the blood stains, I think this shirt was already ruined. Besides, I needed ta use the sleeve ta stop the bleedin'. . . Or at least try." Pause "But I reckon thas not why ya brought me in here."

"No, it's not", Jack answered. "Yer new ta my crew and I have ta say yer one strange lad."
One button was undone. He looked at the boy in the eye.
"Fer some reason, ya remind me o' someone. A girl I met the other night. Ya got the same eyes. The same hair color."
Another button came undone.
"Ya wouldn't happen ta be related ta her by 'ny chance, would ya?" Jack asked.
