That night, Astoria laid in her hammock, sipping on a bottle of rum and thinking about Jack. She felt the first sting of real guilt she's felt in a long time. One for lying to Jack about so much. And two for all the men she killed today. For a moment she wondered if any of them had family at home waiting for them. . . That blood was now on her hands. She took another long swig of rum. It seemed impossible for her to fall asleep so she decided to go up on deck. She plopped herself on the steps, looked up at the stars and now began thinking of Cas - The one that got away.

Jack couldn't sleep that night. He kept thinking about Astoria. He got up to go below deck. He didn't want to disturb Cas, but he wanted to know more about Astoria. Jack took one step out of his cabin and found Cas sitting on the steps.
"Cas?" Jack called.

Astoria jumped so high when Jack called her that she dropped her bottle and the rum poured onto the deck. She picked it up and looked at Jack for a moment then said "Do ya always sneak up on people like that?" She turned the bottle upside down and watch as one drop slid from the mouth and landed on the floor next the the puddle or spilled rum. "Cuz it might jus' get ya shot one of these days. . . If not, makin' people spill their rum will for sure." She teased.

"It's ne'er happened before", Jack said. I doubt it'll happen soon."
He took a seat next to Cas and looked at the stars.
"What's yer sister Astoria like?" he asked. "I know she has a beautiful name...an' a beautiful body, but what is she like?"
Jack didn't want to admit it, but he was smitten by Astoria from the moment he saw her.

Astoria's eyes widened at his comment about her body and his questions. "I.. ermm.. Well.. Like I said, I haven't seen her or mum in a long time, I didn't even know if she was still alive, til you said somethin'." More guilt. Uggh.. She wanted to throw herself overboard.

"So ya know nuthing about her?" Jack asked. "Shame. I guess I won't be seeing her in Tortuga."
He wanted to get to know Astoria. He really wanted to see her again. Not just as a wench, but as a person.

The subject of herself was really starting to make Astoria uncomfortable. No guilt in the world was going to make her sit there and tell Jack about herself, dressed up as her brother that she hasn't even seen since she was a kid. "I.. errm.." She let out a long sigh and stood up. "I need some rum." She mumbled and didn't bother to hide how stressed out she was.

Jack could see there was something going on with Cas. Ever since the lad joined his crew, he'd come up with excuses to void Jack and his questions. Jack was getting fed up with it. He got up and followed Cas below deck to the rum cellar.
"Ya know", he started. "You are one strange lad. Ya act as if I'm tryin' to take ya like a Tortugan whore, which...is highly unlikely."

Astoria scrunched up her face at his comment as if she was a guy disgusted by the thought. She didn't make eye contact however, as she looked around for a fresh bottle of rum. "I dunno what you mean cap'n."

"Like right now", Jack pointed out. "Ya don't look me in the eye when I talk ta ya."
Cas seemed to be ignoring him. Jack grabbed him by the arm and pulled him away from the rack filled with bottles of rum.
"When I talk ta ya, ya listen!"
Jack stopped his lecture when he noticed Cas was inches from his face. Cas had a look on his face that said he was a little scared, but upset at something. Almost like the night he had with Astoria.
Wait he thought.
Jack was putting things together bit by bit. Cas joined his crew the morning Astoria left him. Cas acted like an inexperienced sailor. Astoria mentioned she never went out to sea before. Everytime Jack approached Cas with a question about her, he'd avoid it...like he was hiding something.
"Astoria!" Jack realized.
He let go of her arm and backed away.
