She shrugged it off slightly, 'What flavour do you want? Chocolate? Vanilla? Or we have some Ben and Jerry's.'

"Chocolates fine," Tom said, perching on one of the stools. "Want any help with anything?" He asked, feeling a little awkward just sitting watching.

'No, ice cream is a simple desert,' she replied with a smile as she took out two crystal bowls and two spoons, as well as an ice cream scoop, and placed them on the island. She went into the freezer and took out the chocolate and the vanilla. 'Do you want anything on it?'

'What kind of house would this be if I didn't have it?' she asked as she went into the pantry and retrieved it from a lower shelf. She then scooped herself one of each flavour. 'How many scoops do you want?'

"Just two, thanks," Tom said, getting up and walking over to the window, watching the dogs out the back, his eyes sharp and alert for any signs of Mike.

She nodded and scooped out the two scoops he wanted, her eyes following him for a moment. 'Are they running around?' she asked, trying to make it as though she wasn't worried about Mike.

Tom nodded. "Yeah, they look like they're having fun," He said, as if to say - Mike isn't anywhere around.

'Good. You can pour the chocolate on yourself, that way you have the right amount,' she said as she picked up the coffee pot and poured the coffee for them, 'Do you want anything in your coffee?'
Swiftly, she made her way to the fridge and took out the cream for herself. It was very rare she made her coffee light and sweet, but she felt she needed it today. Most of the time, she liked it black and bitter.

Tom shook his head, taking the chocolate sauce and squeezing it over his ice cream. "Just black, thanks,"
