Jack smirked at him, he LOVED infuriating Hector. "I wouldn't take any of it to heart mate." he replied thinking about how eager the ghost was about Jack's proposal to kill him. He drank some of his beloved rum and then looked at him again. "Does that bother you Hector?"

Barbossa narrowed his eyes at Jack. "Whether you're lyin'er telling the truth, it's an insult. An affront to my person, and as captain, I have something to the effect of a reputation to uphold. But bothered? Not likely. And if that invisible jacknape thinks that bein' dead is going to stop me from killin' him, I've got a surprise fer him."

"You wish you were captain of my ship." Jack then cocked his head to one side, "Well him being dead, actually does kind of make it impossible to kill him." he took an apple and began to eat. "He was on about the lost pages of Antropolis, ever heard the legend, all the best pirates have...so then again you probably havent heard of it." he smirked

Barbossa looked hostile for a moment, but then closed his eyes, took a breath through his nose and smiled. "Let's not take the long way round again, Jack. Ye wanna tell me yer little ghost story? Fine, but mind, I don't have as much patience fer cheek as once I did."

Jack sighed. "And thats why it is much more fun to annoy you dear Hector." he grinned. "So have you heard the legend or not?"

Barbossa was smiled on, though somewhat exasperated, showing his weariness. "No, and I know ye're set to tell me, so here we go. Quick as ye please."

Jack shrugged. "It was a present from the greek god Zeus to one of his daughters Atropolis...well anyway, she became infuriated because she wanted something more than a mere book so she cast a curse upon it, it can grant a mere mortal three wishes if in their possession but a sacrifice must be given." he explained

Barbossa listened, nodded his head thoughtfully. "And what about the rest of the legend?"

Barbossa shook his head, smirking and trying not to laugh. He put an arm around Jack's shoulders and began walking him to a chair.
"Nay, Jack, ye left out the last part of the legend again, the part at the end. The part what says, 'PS, this is a trap. And ye're an idiot'. Ye read a story, said that a goddess cursed something so as it grants mortals wishes. Cursed. With wishes. And ye believe it, naturally. Because ye're Jack Sparrow and ye've finally got are daft as yer gonna get."
