"Is he awake nowww? Now? Now?" Lucy asked, every other second, eventually climbing off her chair anyway, whether the answer was yes or no.

"No." Mystique said firmly, sweeping Lucy off her feet and sitting her back in her chair. "Eat your breakfast and daddy's much more likely to say yes," She told the girl while she turned the coffee pot on.

Lucy quickly spooned up her breakfast, soon looking like a hamster with her cheeks full of cereal while she tried to ask: "Nooow?"

"No," Mystique said, "Let daddy wake up, you've got all day, Luce,"

Upstairs, Logan's eyes suddenly flew open and he bolted upright, breathing in deeply as he woke from a nightmare. He'd been in Japan, with Mariko, waking up slowly on a lazy summer morning.. when he'd suddenly realized she felt ice cold in his arms. Then when he'd opened his eyes, she'd turned to ash before his eyes. Logan, now wide-wake, grunted in annoyance with himself for not being able to push these things to the back of his mind already. He threw the covers from the bed and got up, grabbing his jeans from the floor.

Mystique sat with Lucy, making sure the little girl ate her breakfast, slowly, properly, while she sat at the table drinking her coffee. Kaede was feeding herself, and making a damn mess about it, but at least she was quiet, unlike her sister.

Logan walked into the kitchen a few minutes later. "Hey," He brushed a kiss on top of Kaede's head (the only part that wasn't covered in baby food goo), then across the kitchen to flick on the coffee machine.

"Hey," Mystique said, then before she could ask him how he was doing, Lucy jumped from her seat and ran over to him, hugging his leg.
"Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! Build me a treehouse! Pleeeeeease?"

Logan couldn't help but smirk slightly at the hyperactive midget wrapped around his leg. He was actually damn grateful for the distraction. He lifted Lucy up and put her down on the counter next to the coffee machine. "I ain't building you anything. You should learn how to built things yourself." He told her.
