Tom hadn't realized that yet though. But the first hint was given to him soon enough. When he got to the coffeemachines, a guy was just about to leave, but was forgetting his wallet. "Hey, man, you're leaving this." Tom picked the thing up and held it up for the guy to see. The boy, who was a year younger than Roxy and Tom, know he shouldn't mingle with newbies either though. And he hesitated, before coming over to quickly take the wallet and go without speaking a word. "Okay.." Tom murmered under his breath once he was alone again. "Weird." He got two coffees, one for Roxy and one for him, before he returned to the table where they were sitting.

"ahh, coffee, finally" Roxy smirked and took the cup from Tom "I skipped mine this morning because I was already late for school, so this is definitely needed" She sipped from the hot coffee and looked at Tom over her cup "So, tell me TOm.. where are you from? What in the world brings you to Elkwood?" she giggled.

Tom smirked slightly at Roxy's list of standard questions. Fortunately, this was the sort of thing he could've expected so he had an answer ready. "From Bayside. And I'm brought to the wonderful world of Elwood by the fact that my dad got promotion so we had to move here." He drank some of the coffee, and made a face at how watery it was. "...What on earth is this?" He smirked.

"Elkwoods finest coffee?" SHe laughed at the sight of his face "You'll get used to it, I promise" She smirked and shook her head. He was pretty funny too. What if the perfect guy was sitting in front of her?? "promotion is always good, what does your father do then?"
She realised that it were just a bunch of standard questions, but she wanted to get to know more about him. And now that the whole school was in a hush-hush and stay-away mood was, she might as well ask all those things early and quickly to make sure he was an okay guy to hang out with and the guys wouldn't get too upset over her hanging out with a new kid.

When she laughed, he gave her another slight grin. He didn't have to fake it, either. He felt pretty comfortable sitting here and talking to her - even if every answer he gave was a lie. She was just easy company, somehow.
Besides, lying wasn't hard anyway. For the greater good, he had gotten pretty good at making up a history for his undercover roles. "He's an accountant." He made up the most common job he could think of at the moment. It was always good to avoid anything too specific.
"So, what about you? Did you live here all your life?" He asked.

"Unfortunately yes, born and raised here, can't wait to go to college in a town far away" she chuckled "It just gets boring after so many years yknow ? I bet you're happy with a change of scenery? Unless you really loved bayside and all..." she shrugged "Elkwood High is okay but I wouldn't want to sit here longer than needed" she winked at him.

"Just one more year before you can escape." Tom smirked. He finished his coffee and tossed the plastic cup away in the trashcan nearby. And he was quite glad he didn't miss, cos that would've made him look stupid. "Anyway, I don't really mind. I mean, Bayside was fine but I'm sure I'll survive a year here as well." He shrugged. "It doesn't seem too different from my previous school."

"hm..yeah..and if you won't survive I can always help you out. There is nothing I don't know about this school so I could be of help" she smiled at him and ran a hand through her long brown hair. She kept her eye on him a little longer than would be normal, he was just too handsome not to look at. "So eh.. you've got math next right ? Me too..."

Secretly, he was glad of his offer to help him cos there was 'nothing she didn't know of this school'. For the sake of the investigation, that was definately good news. No doubt she had heard of the kid who had died, and maybe this could help him out. He knew not to be too pushy though. People could easily get suspicious if he showed interest in something he shouldn't know of in the first place. He'd wait, and stick to the chitchat for now. "Yeah.. I think so. Our sceduals seem pretty alike."

Roxy nodded "I know.. I see that as a good thing" she giggled "It's nice to see a new face. But I can assure you, not everyone will be like that. We're kind of a private-ish school, don't like outsiders too much. you'll notice it soon enough" She shrugged. Sure it was because of this whole drug-problem that went too far, but that was none of his business. He needn't know about the od-ed kid, that was their problem..
