Tom shook his head no, to her question whether he'd eaten anything yet. "Is it better quality than the coffee, or I might just roll over and die already." He told her jokingly. He got back to the joking around and chitchat easily.
If this Bob guy was in his french class, he figured he could find out who he was and how Tom could talk to him later.

"Oh no my friend, scoutshonour that it is REALLY good....and no I was never a scoutcup or anything" she giggled. "Come on, we gotta go to the teachers canteen for those buns.."

Tom laughed, walking with her through the corridor towards the teacher's canteen. "You're not easy to figure out, Roxy." He told her honestly. "You skip class, but then I find out you never skip class, and now you're stealing food from the teachers canteen. Angel of devil? I can't decide." He smirked.

"..maybe I'm a little bit of both!" she chuckled, liking the way he thought about her, angel or devil.. She led him to the teachers canteen and knocked on the door, then she opened it. "Mr. Fairmill ? Are there any of those buns left?" "Roxy, sure" by now he was used to her coming over every once in a while to get food from their canteen. She was sort of the nice girl of the school, friends with almost every teacher She took a couple "Thanks, see you at History class" she quickly left again "Tadaa" she held the bread in front of TOms nose "Eat 'em and weep" she grinned.

He took two buns from her and smirked, a little amused by her interesting choice of networking. He didn't complain though, the crap they named 'food' in the students canteen looked a lot worse, and he appreciated a decent lunch. So he took a bite, and pretended to be quite swept away by how good it was. "Hmm. A fistful of heaven in a breadly form." He smirked, and winked at Roxy, "You are an angel."
...Wait. He thought to himself, after he said that. Was he flirting with her too now? Cos that was sort of.. off-limit. Or wasn't it? He wasn't sure about any flirting-policies. He gave it a mental shrug, deciding not to wonder too much about it. It just came sort of natural, with a girl as pretty as Roxy.

Roxy bursted out in laughing because of his peculiar choice of words "breadly heaven, I needa remember that" she played with her hair and shrugged a little "Not an angel to everyone, as long as you keep that in mind" she smirked and headed to french class with Tom "I think the seat next to Bob is always empty during french, but I don't know if he wants you to sit next to him.. he always has an odd taste in friends and who he wants to sit next to, which is why he mostly sits alone...but he's an okay guy besides that"

Tom smirked, "I'll see about it."
When they got to french class, Roxy headed of with her usual friends again, sitting next to the same girl as she had sat next to in math class. Tom found that Roxy had been right, and took a seat next to Rob.
During the class he attempted some small talk with the guy, but Rob pretty much kept to himself. Tom soon learned that he had a couple of friends though. And nobody seems to avoid Rob like they avoided him. So he knew one thing: these kids *could* be friendly to newbies.
Now all he needed to do was talk to Mary to find out whether the death had changed that so drastically.
By the time the bell rang, and class was over, Rob stopped talking and disappeared out of the class pretty quickly. Tom doubted that was Rob's urge to be unsocial though. More likely that he too didn't want to be seen mingling with the newbie.

"Ted is absolutely furious at you.." Estelle whispered to Roxy when she sat down ".. I did nothing wrong, Tom is a normal guy, I'll show you guys.." she mumbled. Roxy was determined to show her friends that it was okay to let other people in again, if only to make themselves less suspiscious...
After French class Roxy past Tom, she said Goodbye and told him she would see him tomorrow. something she really hoped would happen. As she left the school, butterflies were twirling around in her stomach, and the grin on her face was enormous. She liked him a lot, heck.. she even thought she had fallen in love with him at first sight. Hopelessly romantic as she was she couldn't stop thinking about TOm and his gorgeous face.
Twenty minutes later Roxy walked into her house. "Daaaad, I'm home!" she shouted through the hallway. "I'm in here, honey!" Her father was in his office, busy working. "I eh.. got a phonecall from school today" he said as his daughter walked in "Oh ? ..why?" she thought it would have to do with the whole skipping-english thing.. "Appearantly you did not show up for English ? You were hanging out with a new kid?' he raised an eyebrow ".. I eh.. yes.. I was. But he is okay, daddy. I talked to him and he's normal, not a cop or a son of a cop or anything" she didn't know that for sure, but she trusted Tom blindly, cause she was already blindly in love. "He's nice and normal and I needed to show him around. And I've never skipped English before and you know how mrs. Gorham hates me anyway.." "I'll ignore it if you stop hanging out with new kids" he mumbled calmly "You know what I told you, the rule has not changed, yet." "Then I think the rule should change now.. Daddy, we've been keeping out all newbies, it is suspicious okay?" Her father sighed ".. I don't know" he answered thoughtfully "Listen, just.. I'll think about it. Now go, Daddy's got some important business to do" "I know.. I'm gonna make homework" She took her bag and left her dad's office, leaving him to do his moneylaundry-ing..

(vind je t goed als ik Doug gebruik? ) After school Tom had gone home to his appartment. As he put the key in the lock of the door, he heard the phone was ringing inside. "Oh shit." He struggled with the key, got the door open and hurried inside just in time to pick up the phone. "Yeah!" "Hey, Thomas Henderson! How was your first day of school?"Tom smirked, recognizing Doug's voice easily. "What's up, Doug?" "Nothing. What are you doing for dinner?"Half an hour later Tom rang the doorbell of the appartment that Doug shared with his girlfriend Dorothy. Doug had managed to convince him to come over for dinner to help finish 'Dorothy's horrible meatballs'. The door swung open, and Doug was on the other side. "You're here!"Tom grinned, and walked inside. "Is the situation that desperate?" He followed Doug to the livingroom, avoiding the kitchen from which an intersting scent was coming. "Horrible. How's your new case?" Doug opened a can of Coke and handed it over to Tom."Interesting." Tom was glad he got to tell his story, figuring maybe Doug had some ideas on what to do. "These kids are avoiding new students like the plague. They seem suspicious of pretty much everyone." "That's weird. If one person's to blame, why would the rest of them act like that?""I don't know. Blackmail, they don't want to lose their dealer, peer pressure." Tom named three options. "Do they suspect you?" Doug frowned. "As much as they suspect everyone else." Tom shrugged. Doug paused to think about it. "So, you had some trouble making friends on your first day, huh?" He smirkedTom smirked back, "I met a girl. She was pretty approachable. ...Her friends didn't appreciate it, but she didn't seem to care that much." "Yeah? What's she like?""She seems to have a lot of friends so maybe that'll help me blend in. She's friendly, yknow." Tom paused, to swallow a sip from his Coke can, "...And pretty drop-dead-gorgeous." Doug laughed, "Ha! Okay, charmer, just keep in mind that she could be as guilty as anyone else." "Yeah, sure." Tom agreed. But truthfully, Roxy was the only one who actually bothered to talk to him. If anything, that made her the least suspicious in his eyes. They were distracted from their conversation when Dorothy showed up, and directed them to set the table. The rest of the night they didn't bring up work anymore. By the time Tom went home he had stopped worrying about his complications at the highschool, and was glad to take a shower and crash.

The next morning Roxy came into the kitchen around 8 o'clock, ready to leave for school. Her father's girlfriend was sitting at the kitchentable, reading a magazine while letting the hot pink nailpolish on her nails dry. "Sweety you look absolutely gorgeous" She said, looking at Roxy and inspecting the short dress she was wearing, with purple leotards(?) underneath and red high heels. "colourful...you gotta impress someone or what? Don't fool around with the teachers now, yknow that's illegal!" she laughed.
Roxy smirked. She had dressed a bit different today, not very different from what she might wear, but today it was with a purpose. "Don't worry, I won't" she smirked "Where's dad?" "He's in the bedroom getting dressed" Roxy left the kitchen to go to her fathers bedroom. She knocked on the door "Daaad?" "Yeah?" "I'm going now, I'm borrowing your car, okay?" "Right, just be careful." He was busy fixing his tie as he looked at his daughter "Oh and I wanted to tell you something" He began, by now Roxy was helping him with his tie "We're going to start sending packages again next week. The demand is still big, despite what happened. Besides, I checked the stuff and it should be fine again. So, next week you'll bring some to school okay?" "Fine, daddy" she mumbled "There, better" She had fixed his tie. "See you after school!" She headed out of the bedroom, grabbed the keys from the hallwaytable and went to school.
